What is your IGN?:
DisgracedAngel
What is your Discord?:
disgracedangel
What would you like us to call you?:
Angel is fine or disgraced either is fine really.
How old are you?:
(If you do not want to state your exact age, confirm if you are above the age of 16)
I am 17 years old.
Do you have a functional Microphone?:
I do indeed have a functional microphone!
What is your timezone & How would you describe your activity?:
My activity is probably a 5/10 when not in a faction. If I were to get into the hospital faction and had things to do this activity would probably increase from a 5/10 to an 8/10 because I tend to be more active when having work to do on the server.
Below is my activity chart showing my active hours. These are subject to change once I get a job and graduate highschool next year and go to pharmacy college.

What is your motivation to apply to the Norowarejima Hospital Faction?:
My motivation to apply for the hospital faction is that I’ve always been interested in healthcare and while I am aware that at the start I won’t be put into one department until after I pass the internship I do find the doctor/surgeon work most interesting and having done a bit of hospital roleplay in a different store but having to leave due to the toxic community around it I would like to continue getting roleplay in healthcare through YRP.

[This section is dedicated to testing your knowledge on the medical field.]
What role would you prefer and why?:
(You can find the list of departments available in the informational section.)
There are two I would prefer and which would fit more can be decided later on I hope. If I get accepted and that isn’t something that is possible I can choose between the two. But the two I would prefer are physician and surgeon. Physician because I have been a doctor previously on a previous server and would again like to continue that experience but I also wouldn’t mind being a surgeon because I also find that work to be kind of interesting! And it was mostly mixed in with the work I did on the other server.
Do you have any prior experience with MedicalRP?:
Yes! I do have prior experience with medicalRP. On another server I was a psychiatrist for 3-4 months or so and doctor for another 3-4 months in total which on the server doctor work was combined with being a surgeon giving me experience in most of the medicalRP that would be part of YRP.
Are you aware that with MedicalRP comes the possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics?:
Yes I am aware that there is a possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics and I will usually not let that bother me unless it’s something super triggering to me which usually there isn’t much that triggers me so that shouldn’t be too big of a problem!
How well can you coordinate with a team during Roleplay?:
I would say that I could work with a team pretty well! I had to work with a team in basically every faction I took part in on the other server and I like to believe that I was pretty good at working with the teams! If there are situations where I do something wrong I’m usually pretty willing to accept that I was wrong and don’t argue and almost always treat it as a learning experience and learn from that!

If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, what is the correct way to manage and treat the symptoms?:
The most important thing to manage is making sure they are hydrated. If it is serious enough, put them on an IV with fluids and monitor them from there. The IV will be able to replace the fluids they lose while also replacing electrolytes depending on what you need to put them on. Depending on what the food poisoning is caused by it would be good to prescribe them an OTC medication that would help with the nausea and vomiting. The only time something else would need to be prescribed is if the food poisoning was caused by bacteria or a parasite in which case an antibiotic or antiparasitic medication would also need to be prescribed.
What procedure would you follow if you witness a patient experiencing a seizure?:
If someone was experiencing a seizure it would be good to ensure they are in a safe place with nothing around they could bump or slam into when having the seizure and also making sure they have something soft under their head to prevent them from slamming their head down onto something hard or uncomfortable. If they have any tight clothing you would want to make sure you loosen it so that it isn’t as tight on them while also turning them on their side. After that is done you would want to monitor their airway and breathing. If that ends up being an issue it would be a good idea to provide them oxygen.
What procedure would you follow if a patient that has entered the hospital has a broken forearm?:
-if a patient enters the hospital with a broken forearm the first thing to do would be to put them in the x-ray machine with the proper lead vest on to prevent too much radiation from getting to them… we care about our patients after all! Depending on the level of the break there would be a couple treatment options! If it wasn’t a complex break I would probably just realign the arm before putting it into a cast or sling! But, if it were a more complex break it wouldn’t be that easy! It would start off with making an incision into the area of the break then realigning the break through medical tools like pins, rods, screws and plates! The final step would also depend on if they needed surgery or not. If they didn’t then I would just prescribe them pain medication and let them go about their lives. If they had surgery sadly they would have to go into recovery for a few days or so to be monitored to make sure things don’t get worse!
What procedure would you follow if a patient enters the hospital struggling to breathe?:
Well, to start I would get them out of the lobby into a more safe place as quickly as possible. There would then be a couple checks to perform! Hooking them up to a couple monitors to check their breathing rates, depth and effort. I would also check for anything obstructing their airways. And also hooking them up to a pulse rate monitor to check their pulse. Then there would be a couple things to do from there. Starting off by giving them an oxygen mask so that they were at least receiving oxygen. If there was something obstructing or blocking the airways I would give them something to prevent or try to unblock the airway. If they are just struggling to breathe by just gasping and the oxygen mask didn’t help then I would give them CPR. Just like the seizure I would also loosen any tight clothing! If the CPR worked and they were able to breathe somewhat normally I would then take them to an x-ray to confirm if their ribs were broken or not. If it wasn’t then that’s good and if they were I would go through the process of treating broken ribs! After all that if recovery isn’t needed then they would be released and any necessary medication or future treatment options would be provided!

A patient is experiencing a panic attack before an important procedure. How would you assist the patient?:
I would assist the patient by.. Remaining calm myself even if it’s stressful for my character or me! Let the patient know that they were going to be okay and that everything was going to be okay! After that, I’d make sure to tell them to take deep breaths, while also asking if there is any way to make them more comfortable during the procedure! Depending on if what they say is possible or not I would attempt to get them what they asked for. If what they asked for wasn’t possible and nothing else was working then I’d prescribe some medication to help calm the patient down before the treatment only using it as a last resort.
A belligerent patient in the middle of a psychotic episode stumbles into the emergency room. What should you do?:
I would make sure that everyone in the room with us remains calm and does our best not to freak out the patient and keep everything calm. Depending on the level of the psychotic episode I would do a couple different things. If it was caused by them having a medical condition or taking something would cause it. I would then ask a couple questions to them in an attempt to understand how severe and what the psychotic episode was about. If the patient is hostile and trying to hurt other people in the area then I would have to use something to quickly calm them down before they hurt anyone. I would then attempt to calm them down as best as possible. After they calm down or have to be calmed down I would then come up with a future treatment plan for the psychotic episodes!
Which neurotransmitter is most commonly associated with depression?:
The neurotransmitter they most commonly associate with depression is serotonin. And while that is the most common one, Norepinephrine and Dopamine can also be associated with causing depression.
What does the Acronym [PTSD] stand for, and what does it entail
PTSD stands for post-traumatic stress disorder! Post-traumatic stress disorder is a stress disorder in which people have a variety of symptoms caused by a traumatic event in their life. These symptoms can be things like intrusive memories. These would include things such as flashbacks, nightmares or distressing thoughts all about the event that happened., An increase in arousal which will usually make them more angry or irritable. They will also have a negative change in their mood and cognition that can make them feel guilty about the event, feeling numb, and/or having difficulty sleeping and concentrating on things. These can also just completely avoid the thoughts in which they will avoid having the same thoughts, feelings or situations that were related to the event that caused the PTSD!
THE INTERVIEW
[Congratulations! Your character scored an interview, please answer the following all in ICLY fashion]
The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.
“Good afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?”
She eye’d the tea. She absolutely loved tea and considered reaching across the table and stealing it from the director but then remembered this was a professional interview and that would probably get her fired if she did so.
"Well! My full name is Chihiro Katsuko! And I’m uhhh… I am 36 years old! Which means.. I was born January 29th 1989. Can’t believe it’s already been 36 years old wow I’m getting old now."
“Very nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why you’d like to work here?”
"Well, I had a family but I left them behind to move here from Finland. So I do have a family with my mother, father and sister just not here in Japan sadly. And, my motivation to work here is that I have a love for medical treatment but the last place I worked at was a bit too crowded for me so I had to move for my own mental health. And, also the other employees there weren’t too nice so I just had to get away. And also I left the hospital I worked at in Finland to move to Tokyo because the pay I got offered there was better and I always wanted to live in Japan."
“Would you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics you’d like.”
(San, Chan, Kun, Shi, etc.)
Thought about it… she hadn’t lived in Japan for that long most of her experience came from living in Finland which was different in terms of honorifics so she had to consider it for a minute before speaking
"Well, to start I would rather be called by my first name! Because my last name isn’t something I care too much about, my relationship with my parents wasn't good but you don’t care about that… and I suppose my honorifics in Japan would be San my apologies if that isn’t correct or means something else. I haven’t lived in Japan too long and don’t know the honorifics here too well yet."
The director nods in affirmation, now understanding the type of person the individual was and readjusts their posture, taking a sip of that aromatic green tea before continuing to speak.
“It is nice meeting you, then. Now, Let us move on to some more important questions regarding your role.”
-
“A patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.”
Really, really wanted to grab the tea curse Japanese green tea and it looking so good. She took a breath to calm herself down because she had got distracted too easily.
"Right, well what I would do depends on the injury. But I suppose, to start off, if I didn’t know what the injury was and they were freaking out I would attempt to calm them down. If I couldn’t calm them down I would call someone down that is trained in calming people down better than me because I’m not really good with that kind of stuff. And then after they have calmed down or while someone is attempting to calm them down I would inspect them for any noticeable injuries. While also asking if there are any injuries I should know about. From there I would treat them based on what they have told me and what I have found out."
“During an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?”
Absolutely! I know how to stabilize people and treat them to whatever degree possible for them! That’s what I’m much better at if I’m being honest… I’m not too good at the people aspect of treating. But when it comes to actually treating the people that’s what I’m super good at! yes
“Could you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.”
Oh wow uhh… well let me think.. My shared office in Tokyo had a blood pressure monitor, a thermometer, and a pulse oximeter! We had stuff like measuring height and weight and stuff like that. First aid supplies! There were quite a lot actually. But that’s about all I can remember, I don’t know if it’s different from having a personal office which is really cool. I've always wanted a personal office!
