“Tucked away in the quieter streets of Norowarejima, Kage no Omise is a cozy little shop filled with the smell of incense, the soft glow of lanterns, and shelves lined with charms, crystals, and mysterious trinkets. It’s the kind of place you wander into out of curiosity and end up leaving with a story.”

COMPANY OVERVIEW
What type of company are you applying for? (Business or Shop):
I will be applying for a metaphysical shop!
What will the company’s name be?:
Kage no Omise | “Shop of Shadows”
What kinds of services or items will your company offer?:
Kage no Omise focuses on selling all things tied to Norowarejima’s spiritual side, be it protection stuff, witchcraft, and the local folklore books that make the island so unique. Along with selling items, we also offer in-character tarot readings! Players can drop in during shop openings or even when the store isn’t officially “open,” as long as someone who works there is around. The readings will be done inrp, with shuffling and drawing of cards, and the results will be a fun way to add some spice to people’s ic lives, as a fortune might inspire a character to make different choices, or a warning might spark a whole new plot for them. (side eyes my other character)
We’ll also have, as I’ve said before, books on witchcraft, protective charms, and folklore for roleplay purposes, so characters can “research” or use them as props. Almost every item, from charms to crystals, while not actually containing any ‘power,’ will come with a short lore blurb from shop attendees so customers feel like they’re buying a little piece of the island’s story, not just an object.
Our inventory includes:
Type | Items |
---|---|
Protective charms | omamori, ofuda |
Wearable protective charms | cross necklaces, crystal necklaces, jade bangles |
Cleansing tools | incense, sage bundles, salt |
Divination tools | tarot decks, pendulums |
Alter supplies | Candles, crystals |
Witchcraft and yokai books | Grimoires, general witchcraft books, yokai type books |
Handcrafted trinkets | Charms, self-made charms |
How will your company be unique?:
While most other shops may stick to selling just everyday goods, Kage no Omise fully embraces the supernatural side of Norowarejima. Instead of just selling items, we want the shop to feel like an experience! It’s a place where roleplay can actually happen, and not just a shop where you just go in and out. With ‘Rukkha’ as the owner, aka a witch-in-training herself, customers can not only find charms, crystals, and trinkets, but also pick up bits of small pieces of lore, gain insight into simple witchcraft practices, or even join in roleplay moments especially with the tarot card thing.
At Kage no Omise, as we said before, we believe uniqueness comes not only from the items offered, but from the experience itself. It is a space that feels alive, where people can pause from the ordinary and step into something just a little extraordinary. (Get it? Because magic and- Okay I'll stop.)
Where do you plan for your building to be located?:
I don’t have an exact location yet, but I would want it to be slightly tucked away from the busy main shopping district. I want to keep it mysterious, as its more hidden location reflects the shop’s ‘secretive magic’ nature while still being accessible to people.
Do you have a designated builder for your company’s building?:
Build team-wise? Uhhhh none. (I don’t know who to ask

Please show at least 5 references for the exterior and interior of your company building:
1 - Personal Design Interpretation

Unfortunately, I am not an expert builder. But I attempted to do a traditional-ish Japanese style build for the exterior with more of an open concept design, with using display entities for help. Next few photos you'll see where the inspiration is from, I tried, but alas did not succeed.
2 - Sonoda/園田神佛具店 | Exterior Basis 1
The real-life reference to my build. Sonoda is a butsudan store (spiritual shop) in Katsushika, so I just based the whole exterior concept through that.
3 - 堤神仏具店 | Exterior Basis 2
Another shop I based my exterior on.

1 - Personal Design Interpretation
I tried using display entity to 'represent' the tarot reading area, shelves where the items will be, and the bookcases where I can sell the books. There's two cashiers, but I feel like I made the space too small sadly.
2 - Interior Basis 1
Tried doing the shelves and the table in the middle with my build, here was the basis photo for it.

How do you intend to stay active?:
The shop will remain active through frequent openings (at least 3-4 per month) plus smaller events to keep things interesting. Basically, these events will help keep the shop a lively RP spot and give people reasons to drop by beyond just shopping.
Activities | Description |
---|---|
Tarot Readings | As I’ve said before, even outside of official openings, store staff can do one-on-one or group readings if an employee is in the shop and someone asks. |
Charm Crafting Workshops | Players can create their own 'protective' charms through RP. |
Ghost Story Nights | Storytelling nights featuring Norowarejima’s legends and spooky tales. |
How will you pay your employees?:
I’m not fully sure yet how much the percentage will be and such, but I will be making it so employees will receive a certain percent of profits made during the openings they work. On top of that, occasional bonuses during event weeks!
How many employees will you hire, and what will their roles be?:
For now, I plan only around 10 employees due to the store’s small size. Staff may switch between roles depending on preference and need whenever there's an opening though!
Role | Job | Players |
---|---|---|
Master of the Shop | Owner (1/1) | Owner of the shop | SkyFantasyWorld | 'Rukkha' Tachitsu Shinhe |
Apprentice | Assistant (0/1) | Handles the shop when the Master of Shop is away | N/A |
Counter Keepers | Cashiers (0/5) | Assist customers, handle sales | N/A |
Oracles of the Deck | Tarot Readers (0/5) | Provide in-character tarot sessions | N/A |
Do you plan to work with other businesses or factions in roleplay?:
Yes! I plan to work with the monastery faction especially, as my shop is closely related to spirits and yokai, collaborating with them could open up fun storylines or even events. Beyond that, I’m also open to partnering with other shops and groups for themed events, cross-promotions, and seasonal celebrations, etc etc, for more roleplay opportunities with others.
What is the lore behind the company?:
‘Rukkha’ Tachitsu Shinhe established Kage no Omise as her personal way of sharing the knowledge she has in small ways. Though she is aware that not all of the things she sells work, she hopes that each item still carries meaning, whether as a charm, a reminder, or simply a spark of curiosity…
But Rukkha’s path to opening the shop though, was anything but normal. Once adopted into a family rooted in witchcraft and magic, she was taught the dark arts by her adoptive older sister. However, her involvement with something made her flee her home and seek refuge on Norowarejima.
Here, far from her past life, she began anew- building Kage no Omise not only as a livelihood, but her sanctuary.
