ROLE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS & MEDICAL TRIVIA

What role would you prefer and why?:

Do you have any prior experience with MedicalRP?:

Are you aware that with MedicalRP comes the possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics?:
Yes, I am aware and ok with this. Since I work in a real hospital I am used to seeing many different situations, so it wont be a problem for me.

How well can you coordinate with a team during Roleplay?:

MEDICAL TRIVIA

(PHYSIOLOGY)
If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, what is the correct way to manage and treat the symptoms?:

The treatment depends on the severity of the symptoms. In severe cases, where the patient is in significant pain or at risk of serious harm, medical intervention may be necessary to remove the harmful substance from the body. In milder cases, the patient should stay well-hydrated to help flush out toxins and support the bodyโ€™s natural recovery. Monitoring and supportive care are essential in all cases

What procedure would you follow if you witness a patient experiencing a seizure?:
First and foremost, ensure the patientโ€™s safety. If they are standing, carefully lay them on the ground. Remove any nearby objects that could cause injury. Gently support their jaw to prevent biting, and position them on their side to maintain an open airway. Continuously monitor their breathing and stay with them until the seizure subsides. Seek further medical assistance if necessary

What procedure would you follow if a patient that has entered the hospital has a broken forearm?:
First, ensure that the patientโ€™s arm is properly supported, as any further movement could worsen the fracture. The patient should then be taken for an X-ray to determine the extent of the break. For minor fractures, a cast is typically applied for about six weeks. In the case of a severe fracture, surgical intervention may be required to properly align and stabilize the bone

What procedure would you follow if a patient enters the hospital struggling to breathe?:
First, assess the patientโ€™s lungs and airway to determine if there is any obstruction, fluid, or other dangerous substances. If the condition is severe, provide supplemental oxygen or other necessary respiratory support and refer the patient to a specialist immediately. If the issue is less severe, monitor the patient closely and provide appropriate supportive care

(PSYCHIATRY)
A patient is experiencing a panic attack before an important procedure. How would you assist the patient?:

I would speak to the patient in a calm and reassuring voice, letting them know that it is normal to feel scared in such situations. I would assure them that the hospital staff will provide excellent care and ask if there is anything I can do personally to help them feel safer and more at ease

A belligerent patient in the middle of a psychotic episode stumbles into the emergency room. What should you do?:
First, attempt to establish contact with the patient to see if I can help them or calm them down. If this is not possible, immediately alert security and allow trained personnel to handle the situation. It is crucial to ensure the safety of both the patient and hospital staff at all times

Which neurotransmitter is most commonly associated with depression?:
The main neurotransmitters involved in depression are serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. Depression can be influenced by various factors, including trauma, genetics, substance use, or chronic illnesses, all of which can affect the balance of these neurotransmitters

What does the acronym [PTSD] stand for, and what does it entail?:
PTSD stands for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It occurs when a person experiences a traumatic or shocking event and has difficulty processing it. This can lead to persistent distress, such as nightmares, flashbacks, and intrusive memories, making it feel as if the traumatic event continues to haunt them

RENTOโ€™S COVER LETTER

THE INTERVIEW

The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.

โ€œGood afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?โ€
sits up straight, his hands folded neatly in his lap as he offers a polite nod
โ€œGood afternoon. My name is Nishikawa Rento, Im 26 years old, and I was born on November 10th.โ€

โ€œVery nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why youโ€™d like to work here?โ€
Rento pauses for a moment, glancing down briefly before looking back up with a small smile.
โ€œI grew up in a family that always taught me to work hard and help others. Thats why I wanted to go into medicine. My paramedic internship showed me how important it is to be calm and helpful in emergencies. I want to learn more and help people in a hospital setting, especially here in Norowarejima where I feel I can really make a difference.โ€

โ€œWould you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics youโ€™d like.โ€
Rento speaks clearly, keeping his tone relaxed.
โ€œYou can just call me Nishikawa-kun. No need for honorifics, though I always respect polite manners.โ€

โ€œA patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.โ€
Rento leans forward, his voice steady.
โ€œFirst Id make sure they are safe and try to calm them down with a reassuring voice. Then Id check their injury and do what I can to stabilize it. If its more than I can handle, Id call for help right away. Even if its stressful, I want the patient to feel supported and not alone.โ€

โ€œDuring an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?โ€
Rento straightens up, speaking firmly.
โ€œYes, I believe you can. I may not have years of experience but my paramedic training and internship taught me how to stay calm under pressure. I would do my best to stabilize the patient until more help arrives.โ€

โ€œCould you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.โ€
Rento thinks for a moment before answering.
โ€œId expect things like stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, oxygen equipment, first aid kits, splints, and basic diagnostic tools. Maybe a computer on wheels for easy access to records, and communication devices to work with staff. Having the right tools is important to give proper care.โ€

Any extra information youโ€™d like to add?:
Nope, I think thats all!
