6. Clients, mods & third-party modifications
This section of the rulebook covers the use of software and client modifications while playing on Yurei-Jima RP. We recognize that players enjoy customizing their gameplay experience, so weโve aimed to keep these rules as relaxed and fair as possible to promote both freedom and user satisfaction.
6.1. Minecraft Clients
Minecraft developers have created plenty of clients for you to choose from, with different user interfaces and countless customization options. Yurei-Jima RP currently promotes the use of Modrinth, thanks to its user-friendliness and how easy it is to add content to your experience. Nevertheless, we have no problem with you using other clients so long as they do not endorse or include malicious integrations such as hacks, exploits or any other type of malicious activity.
6.2. Client Modifications
When it comes to modpacks, we have handpicked a selection of mods that comply with our guidelines so you don't have to worry about which mods are allowed. To access it, make sure to have a look at our official modpack thread found here.
Nevertheless, if you'd like to implement additional content to your experience, make sure that these modifications do not break any of our content rules as outlined below:
6.2a. Modifications may not alter player movement or interactions. This includes, but is not limited to, bunny-hopping, spinners, autoclickers, and speed/fly hacks.
6.2b. Modifications mustn't intentionally bypass or interfere with the serverโs AFK system, including the use of macros or automated/repetitive actions.
* Auto-Run is permitted only for roleplay purposes. Using it to automatically farm attributes or avoid being marked as AFK will result in punishment.
6.2c. Modifications that grant visibility advantages (e.g., FreeCam, ReplayMod, etc.) are allowed exclusively for content creation (such as screenshots or videos). Using them during active non-consensual IC interactions constitutes an unfair advantage and is punishable.
* Shaders and/or other visual modifications that affect the player's brightness and gamma are permitted.
* Minimaps are allowed so long as they do not show the real-time locations of other players.
6.2d. Software that modifies your avatar's appearance (Figura, Essential, client cosmetics, etc.) must comply with our third-party content rules, (see rule 6.3.)
6.2e. Modifications must not include features that extract, copy, or compromise any part of the serverโs assets, such as builds or other proprietary content.
This list is subject to change at any time. Staff reserve the right to issue punishments if a player uses any modification that, beyond reasonable doubt, provides an unfair advantage during a confrontation, or negatively affects the serverโs performance and/or the experience of other players.
6.3. Third-party content rules
As mentioned previously, certain modifications let players customize their appearance through client-sided processes, meaning the changes are only visible to others using the same modification. The main modification that uses this logic is Figura, though all of the rules below also apply to any modification or client that also uses this method of changing your avatar.
6.3a. Vanilla compatibility. Any modifications to your avatar must not impact the way other characters may perceive you, even if they're not using the same modification as you. For example, if your character has a specific hairstyle or wears a specific piece of clothing, it should be depicted as accurately as possible through skins and/or character descriptions.
6.3b. NSFW content. Any modification to your avatar must not include any sort of NSFW or overtly suggestive content. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Nudity or suggestive or lewd clothing/body shape
- Excessive and/or realistic gore
- Extremist/oppresive speech or symbology
6.3c. Body modifications. Alterations to the default Minecraft steve/alex avatar shape must be realistic and must not obstruct other players's view.
- Your avatar's design must be human-like.
- Your avatar must possess a way to stand on two legs (prosthetics are allowed)
- Your avatar must have distinguishable limbs, torso and a head.
- Your avatar must not have any disproportionate and/or unrealistic body parts.
- Your avatar's scale and size should be realistic and somewhat cloose to Minecraft's vanilla scaling. We recommend using /rp height to modify your character's size instead.
6.3d. Accessories. Accessories and/or tool reskins are not permitted, as these conflict with our system of custom item packages. This means that accessories such as glasses, hats, piercings, helmets, foodstuffs or weapons are not allowed, and should instead be ordered through our official server store.
6.3e. Audio & soundboards. Avatars with sound integrations are forbidden.
6.3f. Animations & emotes. Avatars may include animations so long as they are not inappropriate, lewd, or disruptive to other players trying to roleplay.
6.3g. Premium client cosmetics. Some clients include special cosmetics awarded to those who have paid for a specific package within their client. These cosmetics must be turned off during roleplay, as they tend to be quite disruptive and unrealistic.
