What is your motivation to apply to the Norowarejima Hospital Faction?:
My motivation to apply for the Norowarejima Hospital faction is to try again from my last application which had failed, which has made me determined to apply again! I would also like to add that I would like to expand more of my knowledge within the psychology field, as it is a passion for me and would love to study it within the future of my real life goals. (I.g: Psychologist/Psychiatrist/MH Counselor, etc etc.)

ROLE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS & MEDICAL TRIVIA
[This section is dedicated to testing your knowledge on the medical field.]

What role would you prefer and why?:
Psychiatrist
(You can find the list of departments available in the informational section.)
This role really points out to me due to it aligning with my values and real life goals of working in the mental health field to help those with problems that are hidden beyond physical appearance. This is why I’d prefer the role of Psychiatrist.

Do you have any prior experience with MedicalRP?:

I would say some experience as I’ve roleplayed on EchoesRP as a Clinician, and have gained some experience yet I do think I have much more to learn then just this.

Are you aware that with MedicalRP comes the possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics?:
Yes I am aware and acknowledge this.

How well can you coordinate with a team during Roleplay?:
I would think I would be able to communicate with a team very effectively due to my personality and very sociable personality. This will allow me to get along with my coworkers and allow me to coordinate with a team even in roleplay or not, to make sure that we can effectively and efficiently reach a common goal or objective. (I.g: Saving a patient from mental distress. Etc.)

MEDICAL TRIVIA

(PHYSIOLOGY)
If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, what is the correct way to manage and treat the symptoms?:

If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning you would first check for any immediate symptoms such as (Nausea, abnormal cramps, diarrhea, fever, etc) Then depending on how bad and immediate the patient is in I would then go forward with any medication if needed be.
Mild - If there was just a mild case of food poisoning I would then rehydrate the patient, perhaps putting them on a IV drip (If their hydration levels were low.) and recommend going on a bland diet to prevent any further symptoms alongside lots of rest upon arrival home. If they do I would say consult your doctor, or primary care physician.
Severe - If in the event the patient was in a more severe case of food poisoning I would then take the following immediate actions to prevent further symptoms. Get them on IV fluids to start, then go forward with any medication (again depending on severity) then describe medication to take if severity has worsened.

What procedure would you follow if you witness a patient experiencing a seizure?:
If I witnessed a patient experiencing a seizure I would take immediate action, to help the patient that is having an active seizure. First I would quickly do a quick sweep of the area and heading to an available patient room that’s available to use and then gently putting the patient onto the bed. If there was no available space I would quickly sweep anything that was on the ground and gently lower the patient to the ground. I would then turn them over so any potential dangers would restrict the patient's breathing. I would then have someone apply a calming agent and administer it to the patient to stop the seizure such as. (i.g: Lorazepam.). After the seizure I would make sure they were updated on the situation that happened earlier before going forward with any other necessary treatment or such.

What procedure would you follow if a patient that has entered the hospital has a broken forearm?:
If a patient has entered the hospital with a broken forearm I would treat it with such urgency bringing them into an available treatment room to then access their symptoms and current status. I’d then look for any symptoms that could help me identify what their symptoms may be. (I.g: swelling, bruising, blood circulation.) Then asking the level or pain they may be in, If there is much pain I would give them a numbing agent to help while stabilizing their forearm. After stabilization I would then have them get an X-ray to see what is going on. (I.g: Broken forearm.) After seeing they have a broken forearm I would then continue onward with treatment. Such as applying a cast, and or a reduction dependent on severity.

What procedure would you follow if a patient enters the hospital struggling to breathe?:
If a patient enters the hospital with a struggle to get a breath of air I would take immediate action right then and there checking their ABCs. (Airway, Breathing, Circulation.) After that it depends on the severity of the situation such as a severe case or mild case.

SEVERE - (I.g: Patient is struggling and almost unable to breathe) I would then take the initiative to apply a BVM (Bag-Valve Mask.) and then I would apply pressure to the bag squeezing it so the patient can receive oxygen, once there o2 levels are at a stable amount I’d then go in with an oxygen mask to help them breathe.

MILD - (I.g: Patient is able to know where they are, maybe from sentences or such.) I would then ask yes or no statements and go forward with any treatment to have them more stable, such as taking a nebulizer treatment.

After either case, the patient should then be monitored over a couple of hours to a day based on the severity and scenario.

(PSYCHIATRY)
A patient is experiencing a panic attack before an important procedure. How would you assist the patient?

If a patient is having a panic attack before an important and or immediate seizure, how I would assist the patient is that I would make sure to isolate them for a few minutes to remove any stressors into a treatment room (If it's unavailable I would do this as we would be walking to the procedure.) I would then first calm them down, and talk with the patient on what they think is wrong, then talk about the wrong thing and then go on a conversation on why they should take the procedure. Offering for me to go with the patient.

A belligerent patient in the middle of a psychotic episode stumbles into the emergency room. What should you do?
If there is a belligerent patient that is in the middle of a psychotic episode, I would then isolate them if they were standing yet if they were a threat to themself and or others I would have.

THREAT - I would first try to de-esclate the situation, if I could not calm them down I would have a security member or another hospital member to hold the individual, and administer Benzodiazepine to make them sleep and to secure them into a treatment room in the psychiatric department and or patient rooms. Once the individual calms down, and or wakes up they would be restrained to a bed for their safety and others. I would calm them down and converse saying why they were restrained and what the root for this psychotic episode was.

NOT A THREAT - In the event they are not a threat I would then try and deescalate the situation with removing any stressors, guidance to into another room or such, in the event I do successfully de-escalate the situation I would then be there for them and make sure they’re okay and find the root of this would be.

Once figuring out the episode’s root problem, (I.g: Undiagnosed mental health disorders, Intoxication, withdrawal, sometimes pain or physical distress and such.) I would go with the correct treatment.

Which neurotransmitter is most commonly associated with depression
The neurotransmitter that is most commonly associated with depression I would say would be serotonin as it regulates moods, sleep patterns, sexuality and more.
What does the Acronym [PTSD] stand for, and what does it entail
The acronym PTSD stands for Post-trauma-stress disorder. With this disorder when someone experiences and or endures a traumatic experience (I.g: War, Holocaust, Assault, etc.) It entails a variety of things that this entails such as yet not limited to. (Depression, intrusive memories, avoidance, and more.) These are just some of what PTSD may entail, I will go further on what I have said and what they have in connection with PTSD.

Depression - Sometimes when being diagnosed and or undiagnosed is that depression can go hand in hand with PTSD. For example, (Spouse/domestic Abuse.) Can cause much harm in one's lives and can happen to any gender, as it can lead the victim into a state of loneliness like being alone or isolated.

Intrusive Memories - When your experiences of the traumatic event for example (Assault), As the victim they may endure intrusive memories or flashbacks to the assault they had with their friend, parent figure and or a random stranger that can be prolonged for a series of time

Avoidance - With this one this can disrupt one's life in a huge way as that for example a daily activity like being shot by fireworks during a holiday or on purpose, They may avoid going to fourth of july parties or any events that involve loud noises.

THE INTERVIEW
[Congratulations! Your character scored an interview, please answer the following all in ICLY fashion]

The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.
As Ha-yoon entered the well astounding office, he would take in the smell of the lovely aroma, he tried to pick up the scent yet there was no use of it. He would then look forward gazing at the director with a warm smile as she introduced herself and began speaking.

“Good afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?”
“Thank you for having me. My name is Ha-yoon Namgoong, I am currently 29, going on 30. Born on May 15th of 1995.”

“Very nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why you’d like to work here?”
“Well, I came from a family of 2 sisters and 1 big brother. Alongside my motivations to work here-” He’d stop for a moment to think about what to say before continuing on, he’d then start again. “Well- A motivation I have is quite personal to me but, I started this career as someone very close to me life was claimed due to mental illness unfortunately, but witnessing that and enduring seeing that friend just go like that because of mental illness, I knew I had to help people like him to never have to go through that.”

“Would you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics you’d like.”
(San, Chan, Kun, Shi, etc.)
“I think Shi or Kun can do just fine.” He’d state

The director nods in affirmation, now understanding the type of person the individual was and readjusts their posture, taking a sip of that aromatic green tea before continuing to speak.
“It is nice meeting you, then. Now, Let us move on to some more important questions regarding your role.”

He’d clasp his hands so they were interlaced in his lap ready for the next questions, stating. “Alrighty!”

“A patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.”
He would think as he processed the question he would then respond “Well if a patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably, How I’d handle it personally is that I would immediately bring them into a treatment room that would be available." He’d take a pause, breathing for a moment before speaking again. “I would then do my Initial patient care assessment upon them arriving such as vitals, and such.” He’d take another pause before answering the rest of the question. “Then to help ease the patients nerves I would calm them down while examining them making sure they know they’re safe and okay here. Before going onward with figuring out what may be causing an issue for the patient. Once I do figure it out I will correctly treat them and their injuries and if need be prescribed any medication if need be.”

“During an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?”
As he took a breath from the last question he would listen to the next, and then take another breath and then continue. “During an emergency you will always and expect the most quality care from me and the patients I serve, You have my word that I will do just that.” He’d assure the director.

“Could you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.”
He’d then smile a little bit before speaking! “Well other than photos of my family and perhaps a photo of cats . . Equipment you may find on my desk would be a stethoscope, perhaps a work laptop to do charting and the ICD-10 . . “ he’d take a moment to think more. “Alongside a dictation device perhaps and a comforting space for patients so I could do sessions with them.”
