THE INTERVIEW
[Congratulations! Your character scored an interview, please answer the following all in ICLY fashion]
The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.
-
“Good afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?”
*Xyle took his seat as he looked across the room, adjusting himself reaching his palm out to shake the interviewer’s hand. Respect is earned and he knew it was the correct thing to do.*
“Good afternoon, First off thank you for letting me have this interview with you, my full name is Xyle Sa-Hyok, I am twenty-six years old and I was born on August eighteenth, nineteen ninety nine.
“Very nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why you’d like to work here?”
*Xyle looked over and his smile remained and moved his hands from his sides not looking so stiff, and brought them above the table, to let them relax on the table*
“Yes of course, as I recently moved to the area of Norowarejima, I chose this location due to the fact it’s not that far from my hometown. Recently, I have finished my medical studies and graduated with honors. Ever since I've been done with schooling, I've wanted to make my family back home in China proud as we care greatly for respect and I've noticed a few opportunities in this area. I also have heard great things from the locals and the work that is being done here, after I decided to bring myself over here my family actually recommended this area to start as I believe respect is a major factor and I took their advice and after graduation I planned a trip here.”
*Xyle took a breath in between and adjusted himself fixing his posture after he was done speaking showing he was attentive and focused on the interview*
“Would you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics you’d like.”
(San, Chan, Kun, Shi, etc.)
“I do not have a preference but I do know the name of Xyle is a tad hard to pronounce for most speakers, so using Hyok is fine with me and for honourifics I suppose since San is alright it is what I had been called since I have arrived.”
The director nods in affirmation, now understanding the type of person the individual was and readjusts their posture, taking a sip of that aromatic green tea before continuing to speak.
“It is nice meeting you, then. Now, Let us move on to some more important questions regarding your role.”
*Nodding to the interviewer, Xyle adjusted himself and set his hands from the table back to his sides as he wanted to remain attentively listening for any questions*
“I understand.”
“A patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.”
*Xyle took a moment or two and seemed to exhale quietly taking a moment to collect his words and thoughts and began to speak for the interviewer*
“Given the situation there are a multitude of factors but the most important would be safety, as the panic can cause the individual to hurt themselves accidentally or another patient, making sure nothing rash or stressful occurs would be the procedure making sure the injury is taken care of right away that being, blood loss or any unfortunate injuries that could have happened. Moving them into a secure area to help out also would be the main priority and making sure we can save their life.”
“During an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?”
*Xyle paused at the interviewers question and went quiet for a moment and swallowed his thoughts as some anxiety seemed visible but none the less he had responded on to the question*
“Yes I would be able to do so, I have chosen this work career to save others, being myself or with a team, I will use all of my willpower and knowledge to make sure the patient is healthy and stable.”
“Could you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.”
*Xyle’s anxiety seemed to completely disappear and he had spoken as nothing stopped him, confidence had surrounded his aura and he spoke as he had prepared this*
“Equipment used, of course disposal Medical Gloves to remain sterile, Gauze, Syringes, Medical tape, Band-aids for those light cuts, a Medical ID or badge, Stethoscope, any of type Medical grade disposable mask especially now, any books and a clipboard, with many other tools at our disposal to save lives.”
