HOSPITAL APPLICATION

OOC SECTION
[This section is a requirement to properly identify you during your application.]

What is your IGN?:
layzah
What is your Discord?:
layzah
What would you like us to call you?:
"Jay" would be preferred.
How old are you?:
17
Do you have a functional Microphone?:
Yes.
What is your timezone & How would you describe your activity?:
For starters, my time-zone is CST, which thankfully doesn't hinder my activity. Judging on the basis with the activity on a similar server, that I wont name, my activity is similar to every other player; normal. I regularly log on, and roleplay with others when I have the chance to. I mostly do mafia related roleplay, so my focus gains more around that. However, I am also in a police faction within that "other" server, so I do try my best to focus on that as well. Unfortunately, I do have a job in my personal life, which hinders my activity just slightly, but not to the point where i am inactive for a long period of time; I do still log on before and after if possible. Overall, my activity stays consistent to the best of my abilities.
What is your motivation to apply to the Norowarejima Hospital Faction?:
In all of my years associating with roleplay servers, I have never once applied or tested out a hospital faction. This point alone intrigues me. It begs me the question, "What can I learn?" "What can I experience?" "How does it operate?" With these three points, summarizes what my motivations and what my interests are. I want to see what I can learn in the Hospital Faction, What I can experience, and how it operates in an IC and OOC standard. Afterall, That is what defines and creates a faction, with each of them have their own distinctions. But, to find that out, you must indulge yourself into the said faction, which is what brings me here.

ROLE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS & MEDICAL TRIVIA
[This section is dedicated to testing your knowledge on the medical field.]
-
What role would you prefer and why?:
I would prefer to have the nurse / student program role in the hospital faction. As I explained previously, I have not once had an experience in a setting like this one, which doesnt qualify me for anything else other than this role. Plus, I like to work my way up to my ranks when im deserving of one, and to learn each step of the way to become a great hospital worker. But, if the ranks work different than what I imagine (e.g you get trained in the division you pick,) then Surgeon Resident would be good for me.
Do you have any prior experience with MedicalRP?:
Unfortunately, I have very slim experience with MedicalRP. The only thing I have experienced in that regards is simply using a medkit on somebody else, which is police training i was issued. However, if things in servers arent as different as IRL, I do have training on CPR, but I wouldn't qualify it as elite, maybe just beginner.
Are you aware that with MedicalRP comes the possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics?:
Of course.
How well can you coordinate with a team during Roleplay?:
Fortunately, I was granted with training to coordinate and lead teams before in the police faction, which gave me heavy experience on how to properly operate in that setting. Main things I did to coordinate teams were to:
1. Directives: A team must have something to go off of, not just their imagination.
2. Communication: this is key to success in any form of situation.
3. Leadership: a team always needs a leader to coordinate them, guide them, and give them advice for any situation.
Personally, I believe I have great experience with communication; after-all, my IRL job is in a kitchen. Communication is one, if not only the most important thing in that area. I was built and reshaped to form to that, which is why I believe I can give good communication in any scenario... not me bringing OOC to IC ๐Ÿซข

MEDICAL TRIVIA

(PHYSIOLOGY)
If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, what is the correct way to manage and treat the symptoms?:

Mainly, the correct way would be to stay hydrated, avoid solid foods, and have plenty of rest. Medication can be appointed to you if the prescribed doctor recommends it, but it should still be used with caution.
What procedure would you follow if you witness a patient experiencing a seizure?:
The first step would be to ensure scene safety. You dont want the patient hitting any blunt or sharp objects. The second step is to not restrain the patient, as that may worsen the seizure. You should then place a soft object under their head, such as a blanket, a pillow, a jacket, etc. If possible, roll the patient on their side so their airway remains clear, to prevent any choking. Then, you should time the seizure to determine the severity, and for documentation purposes. This also helps workers to see if the patient needs any medication prescribed to them. As for the final step, you are to stay calm, and reassure the patient they will be okay.
What procedure would you follow if a patient that has entered the hospital has a broken forearm?:
If a patient has entered the hospital with a broken forearm, you would proceed to check if there are any other possible injuries. If a broken forearm is the only injury involved, you will take them to the back, administer any medication to help with pain, and xray the arm to assess the fracture. Depending on the fracture, a treatment plan will be given.
What procedure would you follow if a patient enters the hospital struggling to breathe?:
If a patient enters the hospital struggling to breath, you should proceed with airway management. You can use techniques like the head tilt/chin lift or jaw thrust maneuver if there is suspected neck injury to ensure the airway is not obstructed. If there are obstructions, suction the airway to remove them. If needed afterwards, you can give them oxygen via Nasal Cannula or Face Mask.

(PSYCHIATRY)
A patient is experiencing a panic attack before an important procedure. How would you assist the patient?

If a patient experiences a panic attack before an important procedure, you would proceed to stay calm and reassuring to the patient, moving them to a quiet space to assist in calming them down. Proceed to ask them what their needs are to see what may help them calm down as well. If this still doesn't work, you can help with their breathing, with counting to five for each breath in and out, and encourage focus for them as well. Additionally, you can provide them with non-verbal comfort if they're open to it and don't flinch. Your main goal in this situation is to ensure their safety and comfort in this situation.
A belligerent patient in the middle of a psychotic episode stumbles into the emergency room. What should you do?
If this happens to happen, you must ensure safety of everyone in the room, and then try and help the person exit the emergency room to ensure that the patient within the room doesnt get harmed. If needed, other EMS workers can contact police officers to assist in the situation. Additionally, make sure no weapons or dangerous objects are near the belligerent patient. However, the main priority is to de-escalate the situation, this could be by using calm and clear communication, showing empathy towards the patient, etc.
Which neurotransmitter is most commonly associated with depression
A commonly associated neurotransmitter for depression is serotonin.
What does the Acronym [PTSD] stand for, and what does it entail
PTSD stands for "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder." PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. It entails experiencing persistent symptoms, such as flashbacks, nightmares, and intense anxiety related to the situation.

ALEKSEI KIRISHIKIโ€™S COVER LETTER

April 13th, 2025.

Dear Members of the Hiring Committee.

I am writing to express my interest in the advertised position. Fortunately, I have prior experience in the field of the police force, where I got trained on how to serve and protect, but also to save lives. I want to take the valuable experience I got from my previous employment and bring it into this department to help others with their needs. In addition, with my willingness to learn and elaborate communication and leadership experience, I can significantly help your team. Thank you for taking the time to read my application, and I hope to hear back from you soon.

Sincerely, Aleksei Kirishiki.

THE INTERVIEW
[Congratulations! Your character scored an interview, please answer the following all in ICLY fashion]

The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.
-

โ€œGood afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?โ€

Aleksei sat down at the chair opposite of the Hospital Director, quietly scooting his chair closer to the desk. He greeted the director with a warm smile, offering a handshake for mutual respect. It was clear from his actions that Aleksei was a confident, but respectful individual.
"Good afternoon. It's lovely to meet you; my name is Aleksei Kirishiki. I am 31 years old, and I was born on February 2nd, 1993."

โ€œVery nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why youโ€™d like to work here?โ€

Aleksei slightly leaned in closer to the desk, resting his hands onto the pristine desk that stood before them. His body language seemed calm and collected, with no visible slouching.
"Of course. I was born in the land of russia, where i lived with both of my parents. It was very nice, for a time.. but unfortunately, my father happened to pass away in action; he was a police officer. In fact, that was the very reason I became a police officer originally. It was to honor his legacy, but to also prevent anyone experiencing the same pain I did that day. After a time of being in the force, I decided I wanted to try out new things as well, but not wavering too far from my path that I was destined to follow. Ultimately, this led me here."

โ€œWould you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics youโ€™d like.โ€
(San, Chan, Kun, Shi, etc.)
Aleksei tilted his head very slightly, peering up to the ceiling for just a moment, thinking to himself. He never really cared about things like this; it wasn't important to him, nor was his main focus. After-all, it is just a name to him.. plus, his origin was not from this land, so he was not so used to this.
"Aleksei or Kirishiki is preferred. However, putting "san" at the end of those names are fine; I am just not quite used to it yet, unfortunately, since I originate from Russia."

The director nods in affirmation, now understanding the type of person the individual was and readjusts their posture, taking a sip of that aromatic green tea before continuing to speak.
โ€œIt is nice meeting you, then. Now, Let us move on to some more important questions regarding your role.โ€

Kirishiki simply nodded towards the director.
"Of course."

โ€œA patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.โ€

Paused for a mere moment to gather his thoughts, before quickly giving his response towards the situation, in a calm monotone manner.
"My first priority would be to calm the patient down, as any rash moments, or stress could worsen the wound and the situation as a whole. Additionally during this, I would prioritizing the medical needs for this injury, such as stopping the bleeding, and getting them into immediate care, or even surgery. Their life is our number one priority, after-all."

โ€œDuring an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?โ€

Kirishiki nodded towards the director, looking them in the eyes with a determined look.
"Of course. Whether or not I have company, I will help this patient to the best of my abilities to ensure that their safety and life is a guarantee."

โ€œCould you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.โ€
Kirishiki glared down at the floor momentarily, again, gathering his thoughts and thinking of every possible item that he would have possession of. With time, Kirishiki hummed out his response.
"mm, I would have gloves, syringes, gauzes, band-aids if needed, Stethoscope, an I.D, writing instruments, textbooks, gadgets, medical masks, and things of that kind. I do apologize if I have missed anything."
