Describe your activity on the server:
My time on the server is spent chiefly roaming the server! This will change when the server has its full release. Assuming I don’t join any other factions other than the hospital and shop my time will be spent as a hospital higher-up making sure everything in my department is going as planned, which leaves plenty of time to own a shop because being a higher-up would be mostly ooc things unless I’m helping out trainees or an employee that needs help with something. This will leave several free hours for me to run the shop, ensuring everything runs smoothly and we are stocked!
The times I am free to open the store are as follows.
Day of the week -> | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | Sunday |

What type of company are you applying for? (Business or Shop):
Shop
What will the company’s name be?:
Tāntēburu Records
What kinds of services or items will your company offer?:
The services we will offer include a bar for people to get drinks and food, along with seating. Additionally, we will have a couple of meeting rooms for any upcoming companies that need a place to meet and get private service. Or if a gang wants a secret place to have their meetings. Not that we would know, of course, because to harbor a gang would be illegal! But if we are allowed to be more than just a restaurant, the store will also have a small record area where people can buy musical records for decoration!
Some of the items we will sell are as follows
Record front items
Club items
Food
Drinks
How will your company be unique?:
Our company is unique because it’s more than just a club on its own, as we will have private meeting rooms for people who need a quiet place to meet. Another unique thing we offer will be memberships. Because the record store opening will be the first opening of two each day, the membership will allow you early entrance into the speakeasy section of the store, where you can sit at the bar and chat with other people who have memberships or use the secondary option of the membership, which is the ability to use the meeting rooms. These memberships would be 50,000 yen per month. This is subject to change depending on the server's economy.
Where do you plan for your building to be located?:
I plan to have the building located in a back alley area. I want the store to seem like one of those random stores you don’t expect to be great, but they end up being a wonderful experience. An example of what I hope the store will look like will be provided in the references section!
Do you have a designated builder for your company’s building?:
I do not currently have a designated builder in mind! This will probably change once it is accepted and I find a good builder for it! Currently, I do not want to bother a builder if this application is not accepted.
Please show at least 5 references for the exterior and interior of your company building:
The five references for the exterior and interior are as follows
Outside:
Record shop interior
Speakeasy interior
Private Meeting Rooms
How do you intend to stay active?:
We would stay active by making the store a unique experience every time we open. From gangs to newly formed businesses using the meeting rooms for their purposes, to all of the exceptional people coming to our store to see what we are about, I want this store to be a fun time for all the players who decide to go by. I don’t want to be like other stores I’ve seen on SRP, where the owner stands around doing nothing. I wish to be involved with all the experiences going on in the store. Because I believe that the reason stores go inactive and die is that the owner isn’t as involved as they could be.
How will you pay your employees?:
Cashiers and Bartenders will receive 15% of their sales each.
Managers will make 20% of their sales and keep 20% of what the employees give them, should they run an opening.
How many employees will you hire, and what will their roles be?:
I plan to hire a total of 30 employees. These 30 employees will be split up between the following roles.
15 servers. The servers will act as security during the first record store opening.
12 bartenders. The bartenders will also act as cashiers during the record store opening.
3 Managers. There will be a manager for servers and bartenders, with the final manager being a co-owner.
What would the meeting room rules for the store be?:
1. Use quiet actions only.- OOC
2. Keep the room as clean as we left it. Do not make a mess. - IC
3. Once you have run out of the allotted time, you will be removed from the store. Refusal to leave will result in loss of membership. - IC
4. You may use the meeting rooms for whatever you like. However, if you are found discussing illegal activities, you risk being turned over to the police should we find out. - IC
What will the uniforms for the store look like?:
Bartenders/Cashier
Male
Female
What is your character’s name?:
Yawen Jing
What is your character’s age?:
26
What are your character’s pronouns and Gender?:
Female They/Them
What does your character look like?:
What’s your character's highest level of education?:
They have a master’s degree in economics.
What’s your character’s backstory
Chapter 1. Early childhood
Yawen Jing had a normal few years growing up. They didn’t have any problems with their family, and even loved drawing and painting pictures of the world around them. They always knew they wanted to do something big in their life, but could never quite figure out what exactly they wanted to do. Like many other kids their age, they always came to their parents with some big new idea they had, but none of them were ever released except for one. The final thing they told their parents they wanted to be was “I want to own a big store when I grow up!”, but before they could do that, they ended up being roped into a criminal organization. Which was anything was the first central stepping stone to Yawen becoming a shop owner for all the wrong reasons.
Chapter 2. Joining a criminal organization
Having been pretty innocent growing up, the last thing Yawen ever expected was to be approached by the leader of a criminal organization. But somehow it happened. One day, when they were going for a walk, they came across a training of sorts. Being a curious child, they asked if they could join. And for some reason, they let Yawen join, which led to them standing their ground, managing to take down a couple, not before getting knocked out in the fight. Afterwards, the leader of the organization approached them and invited them to join. It was around that point that they realized that they were a bunch of criminals and decided to go to the police to report the organization. However, it was not their lucky day as the officer they went to happened to be corrupt, forcing them to flee town. Deciding Japan was the next best place to go, since they knew Japanese, they booked the flight and left. Upon landing, they were offered a place to stay by a friendly woman, and they accepted.
Chapter 3. Adopted by Qiu Jing
The lady told them that her name was Qiu Jing. Yawen told her a fake name just in case the criminal organizations had their roots in Japan, too. However, after several months of living in Qiu Jing's place and being only 18 alone in Japan, they were adopted by Qiu Jing, and they decided to give their real name after months of being safe in Japan and assuming nobody had followed them there. After a few months, Qiu Jing had adopted someone else named Zack. Yawen didn’t know him too well, and they tended to keep their distance from each other for the first couple of months. A whole year had gone by at this point. Finally, they told Qiu Jing her plan to own a business. Her new mother offered Yawen a place in the store she owned and helped with funding Yawen's education in Japan.
Chapter 4. How they got their master’s degree in economics
Starting college in Japan left Yawen with a big choice to make. What degree did they want to pursue? Did they want to be a store owner? What if it didn’t work out and they ended up spending years pursuing a degree in economics for nothing, just to fail before they could even start? But they decided nothing else in their life had ever worked out, and that they always gave up before making it anywhere, and wanted this time to be different. So they spent those years getting an economics degree. They spent years taking the necessary classes before eventually getting their master's in economics. During their graduation, there was only one person they wanted to see there. The only reason they had made it this far was because of her. But Qiu Jing was nowhere to be found. Eventually, Yawen went home. Only to see the body of the person they had cared about the most, dead on the floor of their shared home together.
Chapter 5. The death of their mother
With their mother's passing, Yawen felt alone. Defeated and just all around sad. Qiu Jing was the one who kept on telling Yawen that it would be worth it to continue the degree in economics. But on the most critical day of Yawen’s life, Qiu Jing had died. They decided that day there was only one person who could have done it. The one person aside from themself who spent time with Qiu Jing, the person Qiu Jing had lived with on the day of her death. Zack Jing. Not thinking straight, Yawen decided to call the cops on him, leading to his arrest. However, after the accusation, he plead not guilty and eventually went to court, where he was found not guilty. After the trial, he went to visit Yawen, and he told them that Qiu Jing was a bad person and admitted to killing her, but told Yawen that it was for a good cause. He made a convincing story convincing enough that they decided not to call the cops on him again. A small part of them still believe that Qiu Jing did not deserve to die; however, they still keep silent about what happened to this day. One final question still had to be answered, though. How did Yawne come to own the store?
Chapter 6. Owning the store
Qiu Jing had not told them about any plans to run the store in the future. Not that Yawen would have expected her to. After all, nobody had expected the owner of Tāntēburu Records to die. The day of Qiu Jing's funeral, her will was read out, with Yawen being given ownership of the store. Of course, they would still need to undergo an interview to own the store. They were confident they would get it, however, and made plans to turn the peaceful Corner Records store into a new idea. They still wanted to keep Qiu Jing's legacy in the store by maintaining the records store and instead made plans to get the area expanded enough to fit a not-so-secret club. With one final plan made to the store from the new co-owner, Zack Jing, to add private meeting rooms, if people have discussions they don’t want others to hear.
