-
What would you like us to call you?:
My discord username, Dreamy, is preferred, though for the sake of simplicity, Grass is fine as well!
-
How old are you?:
(If you do not want to state your exact age, confirm if you are above the age of 16)
I can confirm that I am above the age of 16.
-
Do you have a functional Microphone?:
I do! My microphone is perfectly functional and joining voice chats is not a problem if required.
-
What is your timezone & How would you describe your activity?:
My timezone is EST. I would overall describe myself as heavily active—I am often keeping an eye on the Yurei-Jima forums and am an active member of the discord as well. I am typically available, though will certainly make it clear if I will happen to be unavailable.
-
What is your motivation to apply to the Norowarejima Hospital Faction?:
Whilst I have never delved into Medical based roleplay, I saw joining the Norowarejima Hospital Faction as a chance to do not just that—yet also become a crucial part of something I enjoy. I have been following the project for a few months or so now—and have recently delved further into the nature of the server. Least to say, I am rather passionate and would love to have the opportunity to provide a small part to this project.

ROLE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS & MEDICAL TRIVIA
[This section is dedicated to testing your knowledge on the medical field.]
-
What role would you prefer and why?:
I would prefer the role of Veterinarian, though I acknowledge that role is something my character would have to build to with extensive In-roleplay training. With that said, I believe the role of Surgeon would both fit my character and is something I personally find the second most interest towards. As I personally find the topics of forensics and similar subjects interesting!
-
Do you have any prior experience with MedicalRP?:
As stated previously, I unfortunately do not have any prior experience towards Medical based roleplay. Though I would certainly love to have the opportune to learn and grow overtime. My experience with roleplay itself is rather extensive, having done so for a few years now—if chosen, I will do the needed research to be able to portray my role more effectively.
-
Are you aware that with MedicalRP comes the possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics?:
Of course, I acknowledge this and do not carry any major triggers.
-
How well can you coordinate with a team during Roleplay?:
I am very coordinative in a team-based setting. Whilst I am not exactly a “leader” type of individual, I understand the importance of communication—that everyone stays on task and is able to carry out what is required of them.
MEDICAL TRIVIA
(PHYSIOLOGY)
-
If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, what is the correct way to manage and treat the symptoms?:
A good place to start would be ensuring the person is hydrated—possibly to flush out anything out of the system. Rest, proper medications and executing the correct medical procedures such as consulting doctors would be the further course of action.
-
What procedure would you follow if you witness a patient experiencing a seizure?:
During a seizure, one has little to no control over their body. The first rule of thumb is to take away any potential hazards that are in their environment (e.g. a nearby lamp). Secondly, it is important to focus on their comfort—loosening tight clothing, having them lay flat on their back, and ensure their head is cushioned by anything soft.
-
What procedure would you follow if a patient that has entered the hospital has a broken forearm?:
Firstly it would be important to have the patient be laid out on an stretcher and to be carried away to the nearest available x-ray room. During such, locking their arm in place via a splint to ensure it is immobile until it can properly be scanned would be the second course of action. After such, would the proper medical procedures go underway. Providing the patient with a cast that would extend just over the elbow, with medications provided as well for the recovery period.
-
What procedure would you follow if a patient enters the hospital struggling to breathe?:
I would first have the patient be transported and request a background check on their medical record. The patient may very well have Asthma, Anemia, or a heart-related disease. This would ensure that we directly pinpoint what the cause may be—whilst of course, giving the patient a proper physical examination. Checking their pulse, ensuring they do not have any physical injuries—before providing supplemental oxygen via a mask or nasal tubes. From there, I’d consult the patient and get down to underlying medical issues.
(PSYCHIATRY)
A patient is experiencing a panic attack before an important procedure. How would you assist the patient?
Firstly, I would speak in short, simple sentences towards the patient. Remaining calm—I’d assist them in focusing via small exercises (e.g. focusing on their fingers, counting, etc.). Of course, giving them words of encouragement and proceeding with a few ample breathing exercises to help them steady. All the while, providing what I can to ensure that they are comfortable to the best of my ability.
-
A belligerent patient in the middle of a psychotic episode stumbles into the emergency room. What should you do?
Remaining calm during this scenario would be of importance. After all, it could very well risk the life of the patient who is undergoing severe medical care. Of course, restraining the patient as soon as physically possible by whatever means—before escorting them out.
-
Which neurotransmitter is most commonly associated with depression
Serotonin is most commonly associated with depression, as both high and low serotonin levels can play various roles in ones mental psyche. As serotonin is commonly the regulator for ones mood, sleep, digestion, nausea—so on. Those with depression often suffer from a serotonin deficit, leading them to be unable to regulate their moods. Often leading to bouts of unhealthy thoughts, depressive episodes, loss of interests, the list goes on.
-
What does the Acronym [PTSD] stand for, and what does it entail
The Acronym stands for ‘Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder’. It entails that the patient suffers recovering after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. Leading to “PTSD episodes” where they may enter a fight-or-flight mode—feeling intense bouts of anxiety and at times, even violence towards themself or others depending on the severity.

THE INTERVIEW
[Congratulations! Your character scored an interview, please answer the following all in ICLY fashion]
The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.
The interviewee was rather one of the earlier arrivals. If anything, perhaps too early… a bundle of energy—wrapped with a friendly and outgoing demeanor. Velveteen was dressed rather professionally, pencil skirt, button-up, vest and all. Once properly seated, did she seem to die down—with her focus being put into nothing but the Director across from her.
-
“Good afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?”
Only once properly shuffling through the papers in the folder that sat clasped in her hand, did she respond readily. “Of course!” Velveteen cleared her throat, reciting the same introduction she had done countless times before to get it to perfection. “I oom Velveteen Velours. I waz born Augoost twenty-first—’zham twenty-five.” The introduction was followed by a careful smile—her nails tapping against the manilla folder.
-
“Very nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why you’d like to work here?”
“I dew, yes. My family iz.. main, ideal? Ideal!” It was certainly not the correct word she’d be looking for, though she continued on anyhow with a burst of confident air. Even with the clear language barrier and struggle with certain sounds in the Japanese language. “Work for family, ‘nd make beeg ‘zhange in .. com- commun-ity.” Velveteen A gentle smile only really cementing her well-meaning sentiment.
-
“Would you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics you’d like.”
(San, Chan, Kun, Shi, etc.)
To this question, did she seem to brighten up. Ah truly, this was what weekends spent memorizing the Japanese honorifics prepared her for! Of course, along with learning the various other Japanese traditions. Velveteen quickly shuffled through the aforementioned folder. At close glance, was it filled with various notes in a foreign language, to Japanese. Though this would only gone on for a few seconds or so before locking her gaze back to the director.
“San.” She stated the word with such gusto, it was practically an announcement more than anything. “Ouh-! ‘Nd first name okay.”
-
The director nods in affirmation, now understanding the type of person the individual was and readjusts their posture, taking a sip of that aromatic green tea before continuing to speak. “It is nice meeting you, then. Now, Let us move on to some more important questions regarding your role.”
“Likewise! I am rewdy when yew are.” Phew, so far, so good it seemed. Though the bubbly woman certainly wasn’t out of the woods yet. Nonetheless, was she prepared for the next round of questioning from the Director.
-
“A patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.”
Velveteen straightened herself, nodding slowly—with her expression growing solemn to give the question a prolonged thought. “Wellz…” She began. “Calm iz .. vital. I help ‘zhem breath—count, focus, ya know? While also calling near… free? Persons to get ‘zhem de care needed. I go, so I can help settle situ—situat-oon." There was a small nod towards the latter end of her statement. Ending it off with— "Handle affectively 'nd een correct way. Ensure safety."
-
“During an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?”
The woman hardly had to give the question much thought—nodding in reception to the question. Holding without a doubt in her mind— “No person hurt een my care.” It was a rather direct statement—spoken clearly. “Iz dew what needed to keep safety ouv patient ‘nd do more ‘zhan acceptable—I do all Iz can.” There was a lack of a pause, with her tone almost stern in a sense. It was more than a statement, it was a swear to whoever would undergo her care.
-
“Could you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.”
“Ah! ‘Course, well..” She drummed her digits against her thigh, thinking carefully. “Medical, foost aid—extra sooplies like, scalpel ‘nd .. glooves. Respiratory, C.P.A.P, ah-! Book, lots as well.”
