What software do you use to design, draw, paint, or model?: Clip Studio Paint!
What kind of content do you enjoy creating most?: I enjoy making character art! Backgrounds are still something I'm working on, but I've been trying to incorporate either simple or scenic backgrounds in my more recent works. I also enjoy making non-serious content of characters such as short comedic videos. In short, a variety of things! Character art is my favourite, though.
How would you describe your artistic style?: My artistic style is something I still have trouble describing, but I would say it leans heavily into the anime style while taking on elements of semi-realism. My colouring style has been described as painterly by others.
Where would you say your strengths lie as an artist/designer?: As an artist, I think one of the biggest strengths I have is a drive to improve. This makes me very much open to constructive criticism so long as I am told where I can improve and how. I also value communication in projects, so I often reach out when I need clarification on what needs to be done on a piece.
Do you have any experience doing graphic design for servers, content creators, or collaborative projects?: Unfortunately, the most I've done art-wise for collaborative projects is art trades in the past. I did join the social team very briefly a while ago, but personal matters came up and I was unable to continue.
How can I best support you so you can excel in your role?: I think the best thing you could do to help me excel in this role is to keep communication open. I tend to have a lot of questions about what I'm working on since I want to make it the best that I possibly can produce at that time, so communication is very important to me. I think also giving a good, thorough idea of what is needed before I start working on it would be helpful! I don't mind being involved in design processes, and in fact, I welcome it! But I would like to know if I'm going to have to make decisions for myself in the piece or if it needs to be done a specific way.
How do you prefer to receive feedback or revision requests?: I would prefer to receive them over DMs! Please let me know what I can do to improve in the message, and your best idea as to how that can be done.
Do you work better on multiple projects at once, or one at a time?: I work better with one or two at a time! Having two allows me to switch to the other project when I need a break, but is not so many that it would be overwhelming.
Do you have any availability limitations we should be aware of?: I am usually not free on Saturday evenings. Also, I am a college student with a part time job, so I may be busier some weeks than others. When that happens, I will do my best to communicate my availability.
Feel free to link or describe 1-3 pieces of work youโre proud of: The most recent piece I've worked on is one that I am very proud with. The idea for this piece was one that came to me while I was listening to a song, and the lyrics that I remember specifically sparking this idea were: "In your colours, I'm dyed." This made me think of a character that I have. His story and personality were heavily influenced by another character, and I decided to draw something that somewhat showcased a part of what happened in their story! I wrote a small bit about what I wanted to be in the piece, I drew the thumbnail, and I've been having fun with it! This piece was actually included in my art portfolio above, and while I am happy with it, I would like to add onto it at a later date.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about your artwork or creative process?: Art is something I greatly enjoy! It's how I relax, and how I entertain myself. Even so, I do need to take breaks every so often from it to avoid complete burnout. I do have periods of high activity with my art, but it is unsustainable for me to be doing such high volumes of art all of the time. With that said, I may need to take the occasional break from social team work if I am accepted both to avoid burnout, and to attend to real life responsibilities.
