MisterSun3800

What is your Discord?:

mistersun3800

What would you like us to call you?:
Mistersun or Sun

How old are you?:
I am 18 years old.

Do you have a functional Microphone?:
I have a functional microphone

What is your timezone & How would you describe your activity?:
I live in the GMT+2 timezone.

I spend an average of 2-6 hours a day behind my computer. During that time, I most often have an RP game open, either standing around due to a lack of things to do or actively engaging in roleplay with friends or even just strangers. I take almost all encounters and experiences into account for developing my characters. As of currently, across all roleplay related games and stories, I have a total of 9 characters. One of which I prepared primarily for this server.

What is your motivation to apply to the Norowarejima Hospital Faction?:
As of currently, I have been looking for a way to unwind and spend my free time by having fun in roleplays. I was made aware of the Yurei-Jima server through a few of the active players within it. After spending some time interacting with the community, I came to dearly enjoy the calm and peacefull nature it held. Once I saw that there were open applications for Hospital staff, I decided I wanted to try my best to see if I could get in, as I have had an interest for a long period of time now in MedicalRP due to the ability to go really in-depth on the treatments. Besides that I am also hoping to learn more about medical procedures, safe workplace practices, and how to work with a team under stressfull circumstances.

ROLE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS & MEDICAL TRIVIA

-
What role would you prefer and why?:
The physicianโ€™s department.
My interest in this department specifically stems from an irl experience with people who helped me recover from a certain injury. It took alot of time and I hold a great deal of respect for the people who helped me. I also have a certain amount of interest in the position as it seems like one where you have to spend a lot of time on problem-solving, which is one of my favorite ways to pass free time.

Do you have any prior experience with MedicalRP?:
I do not have prior experience with MedicalRP from the perspective of a medical professional. But I am more than open to learning!

Are you aware that with MedicalRP comes the possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics?:
I am aware of this risk and accept the possibility.

How well can you coordinate with a team during Roleplay?:
As long as there is good communication, I am capable of working in a team. Primarily, if I am given a specific task to handle, while others handle the rest. I can perform my duty without issue, so no one else has to worry about it.

MEDICAL TRIVIA

(PHYSIOLOGY)
If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, what is the correct way to manage and treat the symptoms?:

The first step would be to make the person in question rest, make them consume lots of water/broths/electrolyte solutions to prevent dehydration. Have them eat small and bland meals: banana, toast, rice, etc, when the person feels ready. And lastly, avoid fatty, spicy, or acidic foods. This minimizes strain on the body whilst also flushing out the bad sustenance within their system. fatty or any other heavy on the stomach foods could worsen the symptoms.

What procedure would you follow if you witness a patient experiencing a seizure?:
I would cushion their head first. To prevent head injuries, before clearing the area around them to make a safe space. Then loosen any tight clothing around the neck to aid breathing. Lastly lay them on their side once they stop convulsing for in case they throw up. To prevent suffocation.

What procedure would you follow if a patient that has entered the hospital has a broken forearm?:
First I would move to stabilize the arm using a splint. Then I would check for immediate signs for further injuries, bring them to the MRI for a scan of the arm, make sure I know the exact specifications for the injury, and treat it accordingly.

What procedure would you follow if a patient enters the hospital struggling to breathe?:
I would check for signs of an allergic reaction. In case it is, I would quikly get an EPIPen for treating the immediate signs before further treatment. In case it isnt an allergic reaction i would move to quikly determine what could be causing it (like a collapsed lung or other airway issues) and providing the needed medical care. Putting the person on a vent in case need be.

(PSYCHIATRY)
A patient is experiencing a panic attack before an important procedure. How would you assist the patient?

At first, I would go and sit by them, striking up a simple conversation, trying to distract them a bit. After the talk goes on for a bit and once they calm down, I'll ask them what scares them. After I learn what specifically scares them, I will inform them of the details so they know how little the actual risk to their well-being is. In case that still isn't enough, I would seek to use any connection built within the talk to convince them that the staff involved in the procedure are trustworthy.

A belligerent patient in the middle of a psychotic episode stumbles into the emergency room. What should you do?
First, I would try to reason with them. In case that works, I would bring them to an isolated room where they wouldn't be able to do any immediate harm to themselves or any equipment or people. In case it doesn't work, I would coordinate with at least one co-worker to restrain and sedate the person in question. After which, I would place them in a confined room with simple and harmless restraints. And once they wake up, I would attempt to talk and reason with them once more.

Which neurotransmitter is most commonly associated with depression
It is most commonly associated with an imbalance between Serotonin, Dopamine, and Norepinephrine

What does the Acronym [PTSD] stand for, and what does it entail
PTSD stands for โ€œPost Traumatic Stress Disorder,โ€ and it stems from a severely stressful or traumatic event in oneโ€™s life. Those who suffer from this affliction will most often re-experience the trauma through intrusive memories, nightmares, or flashbacks to what originally happened. They might also tend to avoid specific places that are similar or related to the original incident, along with changes in personality and mood in a negative trend.

IN-CHARACTER SECTION

Mira Kawasumiโ€™s COVER LETTER

Good day to whoever is reading this.
My name is Mira Kawasumi. I moved to Norowarejima from a simple town called Kamakura.
I have studied for both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree within the University of Tokyo. Including a one-year internship at the University of Tokyoโ€™s hospital school. My studies are primarily founded within physiciansโ€™ work. I take a great sense of pride in the results I have managed to achieve thus far within my line of study and work. I have primarily good skills in the department of physical care and medicine, something I started learning from early on in high school to help around within my family.
Thank you for your time. I wish you a wonderful day still.
Mira Kawasumi.

THE INTERVIEW

The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.

-

โ€œGood afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?โ€
She gave a polite nod, a slight smile on her face. โ€œGood afternoon to you, too, sir. My name is Mira Kawasumi. I am currently 29 years old, and I was born on the 13th of April, 1998.โ€

โ€œVery nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why youโ€™d like to work here?โ€
โ€œI have a family in another town, yes. An adoptive family, my mother, two sisters, and my brother. My brother and little sister tend to get hurt often, which always lead to me stepping in and patching them back up. Due to this, I found a passion in caring for others on a deeply personal level. After I moved out of town, I studied in the mainland in physician's work, primarily medicine and physical care. And now I am here!โ€ she finished speaking with a satisfied smile on her face.

"Would you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics youโ€™d like.โ€
โ€œI believe it would be preferable for me to be called by my first name. Honorifics aren't something I wish to define for myself. I prefer to leave it up to others what they choose to call me!โ€

The director nods in affirmation, now understanding the type of person the individual was and readjusts their posture, taking a sip of that aromatic green tea before continuing to speak.
โ€œIt is nice meeting you, then. Now, Let us move on to some more important questions regarding your role.โ€

-

โ€œA patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.โ€
She thought for a moment. โ€œFirst i believe I would try to calm them down and talk with them, hoping to figure out some details as to what happened. Once I can assure it is safe to inspect their injuries, I would take them to an examination room before doing a proper check-up.. Before making sure they get the neccesairy treatment. In case they cannot be reasoned with and grow violent i would aim to restrain them or sedate them, but this would only be a last use scenarioโ€

โ€œDuring an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?โ€
She nodded. โ€œOfcourse! It is best to stabilize and treat patients to the best degree possible at the earliest possible chance. In case it is needed I would make sure to do what I am capable of as to assure the patient's wellbeing.โ€

โ€œCould you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.โ€
"Well, I would keep two epipens, an defibrilator, a splint, gloves, facemasks, everything needed to apply simple stitches, bandages, and disinfectant. That all would be for treatment of patients that come in. For examination purposes i would keep a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, penlight, and a reflex hammer on hand.โ€

Any extra information youโ€™d like to add
I do not have any particular information I feel I need to add.
Can you provide a reference to your character's appearance?
