HIHI I'm Sedene / Meika / Shai !!

I'm an artist and avid fan of story-writing
My SPI is Animal Science! I LOOOVEEE Zoology, Entomology, Marine Biology, and Melittology! Yes, I'm one of those science nerds.
Wolf Biology is one of my faaavvorite sciences! I study wolves a lot in my free time and know an almost unhealthy amount about them.

If you ever have science questions about a specific animal, I likely know the answer! But of course, I'm not an all knowing being... LOL.

Sorry to nerd-out, as well ๐Ÿค“

Nice to meet you all, and nice to see familiar faces! Can't wait to interact with this server more ^_^
always down to make new friends n' stuff!

Yes, finally... an intro post... welcome to the YRP community! Keep an eye out on the server and all (as I'm sure you plan to already do) for updates and stuff as launch approaches.

Good to have ya here! ๐Ÿ™

Welcome to the community! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Excited to have you around
Also, why are blue whales not actually blue ๐Ÿ˜”
In short, its because of the way light reflects off of them in the water !!! Its a combination of the rays of light interacting with their skin!! Red, yellow, and green wavelengths get absorbed quickly but the blue light penetrates their skin and appears deeper in the water!! So while they're more of a gray, the reflection of blue light makes them appear blue. Basically, their skin absorbs other colors of light rays, but reflects blue!

Wait, that's really cool! I always knew water got different attenuation for different spectrum of light, but I never connected it to why things in oceans appear blue (or why blue whales are blue).

I guess I got a 2 in 1 for why blue whales appear blue, and why oceans appear blue (y) Thank you for the nugget of knowledge

Plenty of animal colors are also perceived differently than they actually are in human vision because of light and the cone cells in our eyes! We actually are limited in color compared to many other animals ^^ but yeah, blue whales look blue bc of rays of light! Also I fixed some of the wording because I accidentally mixed up absorbing and reflecting at da end there but u get what I mean LOL.
