Folklore
Tsumiyaku remains a revered Kami, a tragic, mortal-born spirit forged from poison and pain. Born of venomous serpents steeped in violence, treachery, and greed, she was destined to inherit their cruel path. Yet, amid the shadows of her nature, Tsumiyaku lifted her gaze to the moon in the stillness of one night. Its cold, gentle light stirred something long buried within her: hope. A vision not of denial, but of transformationโto turn her violent nature toward a righteous purpose.
Guided by that pale radiance, she began her path of redemption. Under the guidance of her mentor, Tsumiyaku honed her spirit and her scales alike. She fought monsters, forged bonds of friendship, and built a family of her choosing, growing ever further from the legacy her blood demanded. In time, Tsumiyaku became a living testament: that even those born in shadow and venom might bring light.
Yet at her journeyโs end, Tsumiyaku faced a final choice: seize the moonโs light as her reward, claiming her long-sought place among the divine, or to give instead of taking. In that moment, she saw beyond her pale-scaled reflection and her desire for absolution. She remembered those she loved, those she had harmed, and all the lives touched by her struggle.
Remembering her mentorโs words, "True redemption is not reward, but sacrifice," Tsumiyaku chose to offer everything. She incinerated herself in holy amaranth fire, turning her once-poisoned body to ash that fell as blessed soil upon the earth. Her severed tail shed its eyes, planting them like seeds deep into the shadowed ground. From her sacrifice, new life blossomed: plants, beasts, and fresh beginnings sprang forth where her form had burned away.
Thus, the serpent born of venom and greed became the sacred source from which many lives now flourish. Gone from her moon, yet closer than ever to all. Though even still, at her end, the gods had shined favor on her. Reborn from the ashes of her sacrifice, Tsumiyaku emerged anew as a goddess of purification. Enwreathed eternally in the amaranth flames that once consumed her, she now burns away sin and corruption wherever she treads.
While wrathful, she is benevolent at heart.

STRENGTHS:
Tsumiyaku-no-Kamiโs golden, viperine form is enwreathed in amaranth holy fireโa sacred blaze that scours curses, burns away malevolent spirits, and purifies lands steeped in corruption.
Within the bounds of her sanctified domains, her senses bloom: every whispered prayer, every malicious thought, and every shadowed presence is laid bare to her sight.
Though born of venom and sin, her very presence now repels lesser curses and wards; her resilient spirit is a testament to sacrifice turned sanctity.
WEAKNESSES:
Should she be invoked through violence, her wrath may eclipse reason, turning her sacred fire from precise judgment to sweeping destruction.
Though her scales gleam with divinity, the weight of her compassion lingers; words that recall past guilt and sorrow may still stay her burning hand.
Soul-Death Mechanics:

Tsumiyaku-no-Kami is one of, if not the strongest, entity upon the isle of Norowarejima, and would require several Kami to cast her out of her throne.

Tsumiyaku has two known visible appearances. In legend, she is said to reveal herself in her divine form as an enormous, elegant golden pitviper, its scales glimmering like burnished metal. Her entire body coils within a swirling maelstrom of amaranth sacred flames that sear and drive away cursed spirits the moment they draw near. She is also rumored to take the visage of a beautiful woman riddled with scales, one who shines with divine radiance.
While a benevolent deity, Tsumiyaku-no-Kami is anything but passive. Her heart craves violence, and she takes immense joy in rending cursed spirits to cinders. She is said to be quite contradictory. Smug and silver-tongued, yet cloaked in a stillness that unsettles even her fellow Kami. Volatile by nature, her joy in incinerating cursed spirits flickers close to bloodlust, revealing a savage delight she rarely bothers to hide. Though capable of unexpected kindness, such moments are fleeting. She is an artful manipulator, bending truths and hearts with calculated grace, finding weakness, and weaving it into advantage.
