What is your Discord?:

da_dank

What would you like us to call you?:

Dank or whatever else you decide to use, as I’ll roll with nearly anything.

How old are you?:

18 years old

Do you have a functional Microphone?:

Yes, I do have a working microphone and have little to no issues joining calls.

What is your timezone & How would you describe your activity?:

My timezone is mountain standard time or MST

As of right now I am not whitelisted so I can only give an idea of what my activity will look like. The table below is currently what I end up spending on another similar server. When the YRP server goes public, and if I get whitelisted, I will be likely to replace the current server I play on with this server as I see more potential in its growth.

What is your motivation to apply to the Norowarejima Hospital Faction?:

I love the work that I have been able to see done on this server, I am extremely hopeful in its future. Since I found out about YRP, and the people working on it, I have been eager to be a part of the player base. I have had a respect for some of its staff, at least those who once were a vital piece to the server I mentioned before. I found the hospital roleplay on that server extremely fun, and I am just as excited to see how this server plans on going about this genre of roleplay. From the little I have seen, due to not being whitelisted, the hospital building and faction as a whole have good people behind it. Which makes me very excited to have the chance to be a part of this effort.

ROLE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS & MEDICAL TRIVIA

What role would you prefer and why?:

I’d prefer doing surgeon or anything within physiology, as it’s what my character has the most knowledge in. Not only that, but I believe it'd be more interesting to me than the other departments. Personally I find this sort of emergency roleplay more appealing, and exciting, than psychiatry.

Do you have any prior experience with MedicalRP?:

Yes, for a little while was in the EMS faction on a comparable server, and did pretty well. I was really active while in the faction. Due to me being on for long hours, I got a large amount of hospitalRP experience. While I was in the faction for around a month, the only reason for me leaving was due out of character issues. However I did things ranging from brain hemorrhages to simple cuts. Aided in the care of some gangRP related injuries as well, and was capable of handling most things that went through the door. I highly enjoyed the medical roleplay, and put as much effort I was able to within my schedule.

Are you aware that with MedicalRP comes the possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics?:

Yes, I am aware of this, and have no issues regarding this.

How well can you coordinate with a team during Roleplay?:

I would like to think that I work decently with people during roleplay, I do my best to communicate with people in and out of character and ensure that everyone is comfortable with the way things are going. I like to think roleplay is better when everyone is having the most fun, all while taking their character and the story seriously. I think communication both in character and out is what makes roleplay fun, and allows us to make the best narrative that everyone can enjoy. At the end of the day it’s a block game, and we’re all out to have a good experience.

MEDICAL TRIVIA

(PHYSIOLOGY)
If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, what is the correct way to manage and treat the symptoms?:

Key thing is to ensure they are hydrated, thus they are to drink lots of water to make up for the lost fluids and electrolytes. If in an emergency situation they might be connected to an IV, where fluid will be administered directly. The rest is primarily symptom relief, this includes things such as anti-nausea medication, and over the counter pain relief medications. When in cases that are caused by bacteria, antibiotics might be prescribed, however this may not always be the case as they don’t want any unnecessary antibiotic use which can result in antibiotic resistance. However my procedure may be altered depending on what I am trained on if accepted.

What procedure would you follow if you witness a patient experiencing a seizure?:

Due to seizures being unstoppable, all you can do is roll them upon their side so they don’t choke on their tongue or spit and time the duration of the seizure. Writing down when, where and how long it lasts will allow you to potentially narrow down and understand why the seizure is occurring.

What procedure would you follow if a patient that has entered the hospital has a broken forearm?:

First thing is to take an X-ray of the forearm, this way you are able to see just what kind of break it is. If it is a fracture break you can simply place a cast on it, or if it’s more severe, you might do surgery to insert metal rods or plates to hold the bone in place. The main goal with fractured breaks is to keep the limp immobilised so that the body can heal on its own. However if it is a fracture break it’s a much more in depth procedure. This is usually where surgery is done where the bone fragments might be gathered and glued/reassembled before casting. However my procedure may be altered depending on what I am trained on if accepted.

What procedure would you follow if a patient enters the hospital struggling to breathe?:

First thing is to determine the cause. If it seems they are struggling to breathe due to an object being trapped in their airway, the first thing to do is the heimlich maneuver. However if it is due to an asthma attack, you administer medication in which open airways, along with supplemental oxygen. The overall goal is to diagnose the cause, then apply respiratory therapy as trained and needed. I personally have little knowledge in this field, and understand I may be incorrect. However this does not mean I am incapable, and/or unwilling to expand my knowledge on the subject to provide an accurate roleplay experience. I also don’t wish to spread misinformation about the topic, so if anything I get wrong I am more than willing to correct.

(PSYCHIATRY)
A patient is experiencing a panic attack before an important procedure. How would you assist the patient?

First thing is to instruct them to take deep breaths, having them look side to side. The purpose of having them look side to side is so the subconscious no longer recognizes the situation as dangerous. Of course I allow them to take their time, to calm down, and help them as needed. Keeping a level head, and voice, I can then potentially discuss with the patient any potential methods of creating a more comfortable environment. If the patient is unable to calm down, or a resolution is not met, we can then consider medication.

A belligerent patient in the middle of a psychotic episode stumbles into the emergency room. What should you do?

The first thing to do is to not make the situation worse, what matters is to remain calm and calculated. Depending on if the patient is present themself to be a threat to both our, and their own, safety it is in our best interest to potentially restrain or medicate them so they can calm down. If they seem to be in a state of reason, it is best to discuss with them their reasoning and do what is possible to calm them down. Once calm, we can then diagnose and potentially treat the patient.

Which neurotransmitter is most commonly associated with depression

The most commonly associated neurotransmitter is serotonin, however norepinephrine, and dopamine are also closely related to mood disorders such as depression.

What does the Acronym [PTSD] stand for, and what does it entail

PTSD is an acronym for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it often entails unwanted or distressing memories of traumatic events that return repeatedly. As well as reliving these memories, as though they were experiencing it again, nightmares about the event, and severe emotional distress or physical reactions to things that remind the person of the event. People with PTSD may be avoidant when asked about the event, and avoid places, activities, or people that remind them of the event. PTSD also affects the victims mood and thought processes. Often including negative thoughts about one’s self, ongoing blame, fear or guilt, memory problems when recalling important aspects of the event, and feeling emotionally numb are simply a small list of the effects that this disorder has. This is a very complex topic, and as time goes on we still find new ways this disorder affects people, and how we can treat it.

THE INTERVIEW

The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.

Alexandrina would sit patiently with her posture straight as a board and hands placed gently within her lap. Her icy blue eyes fixed upon the director as they entered. Her pale skin chilling in appearance, the edges of her skin a rosy pink while the recesses seemed blue in color. Deathly to say the least, however a kindness seemed to have emitted from her raised slender brows and gentle expression. Her lips plump, and coated with a deep red wine lipstick, with their ends softly raised to present a warm comforting smile. All the more contrasting to her overall complexion.

“Good afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?”

“Good afternoon to you as well, my name is Alexandrina Moon. I am the age of 37 years old, and I was born upon the evening of March 9th 1988” She’d say, her voice melodic and soft in tone. She spoke with an accent unfamiliar, upon a brief sample of it she seemed english, however a eastern european tone seemed to creep upon the recesses of her words.

“Very nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why you’d like to work here?”

Alexandrina would gently close her eyes as she bobbed her head up and down softly. She’d then speak softly.
“Of course, unfortunately my parents passed away quite some time ago while I was only seventeen. As for my motivations for working within your physiology division I have a strong investment into this field. Since I was young I was fascinated with functions of the human body, along with our ability to mend the ailments inflicted upon us. It was this fascination that guided me towards furthering my education upon the topic. Spending much of my years as a student enveloped by my obsession with this subject, and in these years I found myself unable to pry my attention away from my studies. What I wish for in my work here is to continue discovery, while also putting my knowledge to use.” Her eyes would widen upon the subject of physiology, and her studies. She’d speak with such passion as she’d describe her devotion and care to her work, she looked as though she was an artist speaking about their works with such romance. Her eyes wide, watching, and glossy as she’d speak energetically.

“Would you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics you’d like.”
(San, Chan, Kun, Shi, etc.)

“I care very little about what name you choose to refer to me as, however if you wish you may call me by my maiden name Moon. As for honorifics, I will repeat myself, I hold little to no care for formalities
such as this as I hold little knowledge of the customs within this country.” She’d say, her words direct, yet her expressions seemed to remain rather kind.

The director nods in affirmation, now understanding the type of person the individual was and readjusts their posture, taking a sip of that aromatic green tea before continuing to speak.
“It is nice meeting you, then. Now, Let us move on to some more important questions regarding your role.”

“Quite, I believe I am as prepared as I must be. Let us continue.”

“A patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.”

“I respond as I am trained to do, transport them to a room where I can conduct an emergency procedure. I am trained better than to allow panic to overwhelm me as I know, just as much as any of my peers, that if action is not to be taken the greater the consequences. Time is of the essence, and lives are on the line, not a second can be lost upon uncalculated actions or thoughts. Thus I stabilize the patient before moving forward.”

“During an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?”

“Of course, I will not hesitate to do whatever is needed as needed. One patient is manageable, however if there is help available I have no doubt I will ask for it. If the patient’s condition is more than I can handle on my own, I have no doubt I will do as I can to stabilize the patient till others are able to come to my aid.”

“Could you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.”

“Likely a blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, and thermometer. I also assume I’d have access to a scale, and stadiometer. As well as a stethoscope, first aid supplies, and a pen light. However I’m sure I’d possess, and be supplied with, a broad range of equipment to aid me in my work.”

Any extra information you’d like to add

I have nothing more to add at this time.

Can you provide a reference to your character's appearance?
