At the moment, I consider myself a semi-regular presence within the discord server itself, chatting or saying hi to others when possible, or even just reading up on chat or any updates at all. I have also started doing a questionnaire for characters in the forums as a fun little activity for the community to do while we wait for the server’s release!
I do have a whitelist into the server, but I have only visited a few times to see the progress out of curiosity. Though, I do hold back in visiting often (so I can see even more progress made when I do get on, hehe) I can imagine that once the server releases, my activity will thus spike as I eagerly look for roleplaying opportunities and new experiences.

1. FOOD & DRINKS
CAFE CINNABON’s primary service is to provide customer satisfaction via cooking simple dishes to evoke a sense of warmth or be reminded of home. Its main menu consists of beloved and familiar dishes that are common within the culinary world of Japan, with a specialization in Yoshoku (or western-based Japanese cuisine). Furthermore, the menu is catered to lunchtime or late dinners, but there are a few items that are specific for early mornings.

The items in the menu can be (ICLY) adjusted based on customer’s request in case of allergies or preferences.
*Customers are allowed to request specific dishes or drinks that are not in the menu, as long as the chef is confident/skilled enough ICLY (it will be written within the menu that chefs may deny such requests if they are unfamiliar with the recipes) as well as if the cafe has these ingredients in stock (so if the ingredients are rare, it is unlikely CAFE CINNABON will have it). However, under the assumption that most of the actual items in the menu will have a prop/model for immersion, these special requests will purely only be IC ItemRP (aka, not having a model). Depending on the economy of Norowarejima, it may cost less than the normal menu (or more, due to the work that would be put into detailing out the cooking process on the spot.) Special Requests are created for CAFE CINNABON due to their goal of cooking each meal that brings a sense of home to the customers, regardless of the menu.
**Chef’s Specialty is a menu item that is unique to EACH Chef working for CAFE CINNABON. It can be up to the chef on what kind of recipe it is (could be a favorite meal, or a fusion of some kind, as long as it is not already part of the regular menu) and when customers order the Chef Specialty, they will receive that unique dish/drink. Each chef can only have one special dish and/or drink tied to them. The point of this is to provide the Chefs a space for them to truly shine- a specific recipe or a kind of cooking style they personally specialize in that they can showcase to the customers. And also leaving a personal touch in CAFE CINNABON’s menu. Similar to the Special Requests, these Chef Specials are only IC ItemRP, and depending on the server’s economy, may cost less or more than the items already in the menu.
DISCLAIMER: Alcoholic drinks are NOT allowed to be requested or created via Special Requests/Chef’s Special. However, mocktail recipes are allowed.
2. OPEN STAGE (Performances)
Alongside providing food services, CAFE CINNABON has their own little stage for performances to take place. Interested performers can rent the stage out whenever the store is open and the shop owner is around. For safety reasons, the stage will remain closed to the public if the shop owner is not present to supervise (may be changed).
The stage is a source of entertainment to customers, as well as opportunities for up-and-coming artists to have their first taste of performing for a crowd. Bands or solo artists may speak with the shop owner directly to perform for a specific date and time, of which it will be advertised beforehand for the customers to be aware and spare some time to come and watch.
Whether it’s an impromptu performance or a planned one, they are allowed to receive tips while performing for CAFE CINNABON, keeping 100% of the earnings themselves as they had paid for the rent of being on stage prior.
3. CATERING SERVICES
CAFE CINNABON offers catering services for any kind of event that’s in need of delicious food and drinks. The establishment can be used as a setting for parties or events such as birthdays or work milestones. Either way, CAFE CINNABON will ensure everyone is kept fed. Such services may be spoken with the shop owner for further planning.

In an IC sense, one of the main and unique aspects of CAFE CINNABON is its personal goal of serving others to make people smile. For many, food is simply a means of keeping our hunger fed and gives us energy and nutrients to survive the day. Although it makes sense, in CAFE CINNABON food is another language to convey our emotions, to find the means to bond with one another through its culture or memories associated with it. That is why the menu allows customers to make special requests. What if someone wanted a dish from their home? Being in the age of technology, it is easy to search up recipes online, or the customer may also provide their own recipes for the Chef to cook for them.
As CAFE CINNABON is not meant to be a famous chain cafe/restaurant, the interactions between chef and customers are much more intimate. Regular customers may be known by the chefs who often serve them, and that they may order the same thing. It creates interesting dynamics between characters and allows roleplaying opportunities and relationships to blossom.
The Chefs would be given an opportunity to express themselves when customers order the Chef Specialty, a different chef meaning a completely different dish. This dish or drink can represent a Chef’s personal journey, or a reminder of home. Each one has their own story.
Another unique aspect is CAFE CINNABON allowing performances to take place, providing entertainment to the present customers in a safe, small space. The renting of the stage will be at an affordable price, which would entice new performers if they do not have the means to get a larger audience, yet. A great place to perform for the first time.
In an OOC sense, CAFE CINNABON is unique due to the heavy focus on DetailRP. When cooking, or serving, or simply even interacting, it is expected for workers to roleplay with detail (that is within their comfortability. I am not expecting a whole wall of text (even if I would personally love that as a roleplayer), but I do not want there to be one word or dry responses.) This provides an opportunity for roleplayers to practice on their detailed roleplaying if they are inexperienced, or explore a whole world of cooking roleplaying.
Being advertised as a place for detailed roleplaying, CAFE CINNABON can be a prime spot for players looking for a more literature based roleplay.
Where do you plan for your building to be located?:
I would like for CAFE CINNABON to be located within the city area, preferably near or within residential buildings. A space where people can visit the establishment easily, but it’s not beside busy streets (perhaps needing to take a bit of a walk to get there…). I plan for the Cafe to be small enough that everyone can easily see each other, and everyone is also within range in normal chat. But not too small that the place is too cramped. Though I am very much open to compromise.
Do you have a designated builder for your company’s building?:
No, I do not.. heh..
Please show at least 5 references for the exterior and interior of your company building:
I can't find the most accurate references, but the idea is that for the exterior, it's more subtle in its appearance with a flair of modernity. No chairs or tables outside (except maybe some waiting chairs.. maybe), with a sign in front that has the logo of CAFE CINNABON. There will be a large window taking up the front wall, and in front would be plants for that splash of nature.
As for the interior, specifically the seating, I can imagine a mix of booth tables and chairs, enough to sit a max of 2-4 per table. The trait of having that modern flair would also be present, but not too minimalistic. The kitchen will be towards one wall, open for customers to see inside and vice versa. There will be chairs set up by the ‘bar’ tables to be served as well for a more direct interaction with the Chef(s).
At the opposite corner of the kitchen, will be the stage. It will be small, mostly intended for 1-2 performers at a time. The atmosphere within the given reference for this section is not accurate, but it does give a better idea of how small the stage is like, with maybe a little background curtain to give more of that stage illusion.
How do you intend to stay active?:

At the moment of writing this application, I am unemployed and do not have any major commitments. So I have a lot of time and flexibility to adjust my schedule to accommodate different timings. To encourage detailed roleplaying, shifts will be kept open for long periods of time (up to 2 OOC hours or more) this way, players do not feel pressured in having to rush through their roleplaying. At any point when a shift is open, employees can just jump right in even if they did not start working at the beginning of shift, which allows a bit more breathing room on employees getting their paychecks.

- OPEN STAGE!: For this night only, the stage is FREE for EVERYONE to get on! The most impressive performance will get a very COOL prize!
- Performances: CAFE CINNABON will advertise having open slots for groups or solo artists to perform. With this, the Cafe can advertise to get more interested people to come and watch.
We will work towards planning 1-2 events per month.

The Owner will also work alongside the Chefs during shifts, doing the same tasks they do such as cooking and cleaning. |
Manager (0/1) | The Manager is the Owner’s right hand man. Whenever the Owner is not around, they will step up to oversee the cafe and its concerns. Similarly, they also have the responsibility of cooking and cleaning like the Chefs if needed, but not so mandatory. This role is only given to someone The Owner deems as worthy of it. |
Chef (0/8) | Chefs are the most important job within CAFE CINNABON, as they are responsible for cooking and serving dishes to satisfy customers and bring smiles to their faces. However, they do not stay behind the counter all the time. In fact, Chefs are also responsible for giving out menus, taking customers’ orders, and cleaning up as well. |
As CAFE CINNABON is not intended to be a big place, I do not think there is a need for a lot of employees. Of course, this may change if I realize I need more manpower to fill in certain timezones, but I believe a total of 10 (including owner) is a good spot.
Would your employees be required to wear a uniform?:
Yes! CAFE CINNABON is not too strict in terms of attire, but it is mandatory to wear the provided apron. Underneath that, they may wear comfortable clothes.
What kind of employees are you looking to hire?:
I am looking to hire players who have some experience in detailed roleplaying, or are eager to learn and try their hand at it.
I am also looking for characters (ICLY) who express interest and motivations that align with the Cafe’s motto. Money is an obvious motivation, but I am hoping to see that those who do apply for CAFE CINNABON come in with the hope of creating their storylines and character development, no matter how long they stay for.
LORE SECTION:
What is the story behind your company?:
Within the quieter streets of Tokyo, an old couple opened their doors to the public. A little place they call CAFE CINNABON, where every meal served with a smile will guarantee your stomachs to be filled with warmth. The two had spent their young years traveling the world, becoming fascinated by the different cuisines from other countries and how it was shared between families and friends. Such sights encouraged them to also share that love with food, starting their own cafe to work and eventually settle down into a calm, but fulfilled life.
Regulars would often comment how the two are inseparable, working side-by-side to cook and even take requests of dishes that aren’t in their menu. Due to their experiences from overseas, they have taken a liking to a type of cuisine called Yoshoku. It was a cozy place many call a home, a refuge from the hard life that was their reality, even if it was for an hour.
Only a year passed when two became one, and the owner of CAFE CINNABON was simply just an old woman running on borrowed time. CAFE CINNABON’s ending seemed to be within reach. Without her second half, her light dwindled. Until one day, a young 14 year old boy came inside, and begged to be fed- in turn, he would cook.
What was meant to be the final chapter turned into a new beginning as the old woman took this young boy as her personal part-timer. One turned to two, and the part-timer became part of this Cafe’s legacy.
13 years later, Niki Orihara was left with the ownership of CAFE CINNABON. Reasons leading to the relocation to Norowarejima were a little unclear.. Perhaps something he would keep to himself. But whatever such reasons may be, Niki is devoted to this Cafe’s message.
To feed people, and make them smile.
Briefly talk about the Owner of your Company:
CAFE CINNABON’s current owner is Niki Orihara, a 27 year old Japanese male who lives and breathes anything that involves food (or something that can be remotely edible). He was the first and only part-timer in CAFE CINNABON before ownership was transferred to him.
Prior to being the owner, Niki’s love for cooking came from his parents’ passion for it. Even when he was barely tall enough for the stove without a stool, he was already taught the basics of culinary. Brandishing knives and ladles like an artist’s brush, differentiating the taste and textures of ingredients like a gemologist analyzing the properties of shiny jewels.
Recurring customers would know Niki to be a ‘sociable’ and ‘sincere’ individual, being humble about his cooking skills and calling himself a decent chef despite the years of experience under his belt. A joyful spirit, one said, as being with Niki reminds them of the innocent summer days in one’s childhood. Someone who truly cares about cooking and sharing that love for food with others, rather than focusing on the monetary aspects of it (even though he should, for after all he has bills to pay.)
Another well-known fact about Niki is this insatiable hunger he seems to have, someone who can eat plates of food in one go and still want more- almost comically so. But what they do not know is that Niki has a medical condition that causes hypermetabolism, the closest being Idiopathic Hypermetabolism but doctors were never able to give a proper diagnosis or name. At some point, Niki simply gave up going to the hospital after being sent from one doctor to another. His condition can be managed just as long as he is able to eat, and he is content with that.
