Creating your character is the first and most important step you will take when getting into a roleplaying community.

This thread will focus on the aspects you must take into account when creating your character for Yurei-Jima.

1. Importing Characters
All players are allowed to bring characters from outside instances unrelated to Yurei-Jima as long as you adhere to our character creation guidelines and have complete ownership of your character.

2. Original Characters
All characters must be entirely original to each player, and may not be derived from preexisting franchises and/or copyrighted content; any characters taken directly from aforementioned material are strictly prohibited..

  • 2.1. Loophole. Players may not try to find a loophole by playing characters of a close and plausibly deniable difference. Attempting to do so will result in further action taken to enforce correct character creation.
  • 2.2. Bypassing. Action may also be taken against you if you are caught using skins with the intent of bypassing the rule above (e.g. Using a Steve skin on a character named โ€œSteve Crafterโ€).
3. In-Game Profiles
Your character's basic information and features are to be input and logged in your in-game character profile, representing what should be visible to any character who's looking at you.
This information must be accurate and correspond with how you write your character.

  • 3.1. Hammerspace. Your character may not use items that are not currently in your in-game inventory. Exceptions can be made for items that do not provide an unfair advantage.

4. In-Game Descriptions
You will have the in-game option to give a description of your characterโ€™s notable physical features.
If you'd like to showcase other miscellaneous qualities (such as relationships, quirks, lore, etc.), you should opt into creating a character biography and posting to our server forums.

5. Character Names
All characters must have an officially designated referred name and surname, realistic to their geographical origins and/or Japanese naming conventions.

  • 5.1. Name Display. Your character must have a visible name in-game.
  • 5.2. Nicknames. Chosen names are allowed for display as long as your characterโ€™s legal name can be found in your character description.
    • 5.2a. Attainability. Players may not roleplay with the knowledge of a characterโ€™s legal name without the means of obtaining it in-character.
6. Character Features
All characters made are expected to be human with average proportions and abilities.

  • 6.1. Play Features. Any skins and/or playermodels with inhuman features (cat ears, fox tails, etc.) or attached accessories (body armor, weapons, masks, etc.) will be considered as toys, props, or cosplay. Thus, they will not grant any perks in roleplay confrontations.
  • 6.2. Enhancements. Players are permitted to enhance their playermodel through mods, such as Figura, so long as they are within set guidelines.
Spirit characters are exempt from this rule, depending on their classification.

7. Switching Characters
In Yurei-Jima, we allow players to have multiple characters without the need of additional Minecraft accounts through custom plugins by our development team.
Using the /character command and following the prompts will take you through our character creation process.

There is no limit to the amount of characters you may play while on our server.

  • 7.1. Combat. Characters must be at least 3 days old from creation before participating in combat roleplay.
  • 7.2. Crime. Characters must be at least 7 days old from creation before joining any criminal organizations or activities.

All rules in our rulebook are subject to change through community upvote and staff revisions.
If such changes were to be made, a public notice will be put out with additional notes of change.
