What is your IGN?:
My IGN is bansankas
My alternative account IGN is ahnkas
What is your Discord?:
My Discord username is @prolongin
What would you like us to call you?:
My preferred name is Phe, Fae (as some of the community mispronounce it) - I'm fairly lenient when it comes to preferred names!
How old are you?:
I am currently 19 years of age.
Do you have a functional microphone?:
Yes, I have a functional and working microphone and am willing to use it in cases of reoccurring meetings!
What is your timezone & How would you describe your activity?:
My timezone is currently CEST. However, it is usually CET (GMT+1).
Before I continue, I'd like to note that my timezone will not affect my activity in regards to being in the faction. As for describing my activity, I'd say I am exceptionally active in both the discord and official Minecraft server once it is to be released. I will aim to be on every day for a minimum of approximately 7-8+ hours. Undoubtedly, activity will rise once server releases. If anything is to occur, I will notify a higher-up. Some days this may not be doable, as I tend to spend time with family and have personal complications to deal with. It's important to note that I won't let this affect any meetings that should occur. If I am to be accepted into the hospital faction, I will dedicate my time, effort and knowledge to the role which I am applying for. Due to my work schedule, I work 3 days a week which makes being active on the official YRP server smoother and less demanding of me. My work shifts are either the following: 7am-7pm, 1am-12pm or 7pm-7am; in other words, flexible and gives more than enough time for me to dedicate time to Yurei Jima.
What is your motivation to apply to the Norowarejima Hospital Faction?:
My motivation for applying to the hospital faction stems from my OOC fascination with public service work. As someone who works within the role of public services, I feel my capabilities and talents would be useful to the server. When applying for a faction, it's recommended you have knowledge of what to do while also enabling yourself to write acts with detail and effort. I would like to be able to set goals for myself alongside widening my experience and knowledge by trying something new. As someone who is in the current process of obtaining a Paramedic Science degree along with being a Call Handler, I will ensure all rules are followed within the faction and server while keeping myself updated on them. As someone who always aims to perfect their acts, the following questions I ask myself when applying for factions are: "How can I improve peoples roleplay experiences with me? / How can I involve others in a roleplay scenario", "What can I do to make my acts more detailed / what can I do to my acts to help gain a better understanding of how my character or others' characters work".
ROLE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS & MEDICAL TRIVIA
What role would you prefer and why?:
As of now, I would prefer to be considered for the role of a surgeon. This is due to being interested in the role they hold within the medical field; theyโre a staple of the community and must be precise in what they do as well as being welcoming to all patients, just as any other medical worker would be. Along with this, it combines my real passion as I'm currently in the process of studying towards becoming a paramedic. I have a knowledgeable amount of information regarding the role, and Iโd enjoy being able to help people develop their characters through the faction. I take care with my acts, ensuring theyโre to the best of my ability.
Do you have any previous experience with MedicalRP?:
As of current, I have a fair amount of experience with MedicalRP, despite never being in a hospital faction. Despite this, I was in a faction which dealt with things such as broken arms/bones frequently, unconscious characters or sensitive topics. Continuing, this never stopped me from helping my characters' acquaintances on other servers to the best they could. Regardless of if it is to be through Roleplay, I will use my real life knowledge to encourage me with actions on Yurei Jima. Even though I have a limited amount of knowledge within medicalRP, I prefer to expand said knowledge with hands-on experiences roleplay scenarios and by immersing myself in my own research on topics for training and when in scenarios which require research.
Are you aware that with MedicalRP comes the possibility of encountering possibly triggering topics?:
I am aware of the possibility to encounter triggering topics within MedicalRP, regardless of the possibility - there are no triggering topics for me in the faction.
How well can you coordinate with a team during Roleplay?:
Due to having previous experience in a team from factions on other server in the education faction, I would like to confidently say I am able to work in a team decently well and I acknowledge that it will be needed frequently. From said experiences, I learned how to communicate amongst my co-workers and other players as well as training other co-workers on the server as the Head of Department (e.g, a higher-up). This was a huge advantage in understanding how to train others and if any struggles arise, how to tackle them and put it in a way that is understandable. Communication, coordination and understanding are the key things needed in any/all factions.

MEDICAL TRIVIA
(PHYSIOLOGY)
If someone is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, what is the correct way to manage and treat the symptoms?:
If a patient is experiencing a reaction to food poisoning, I would assess the severity of their symptoms before bringing them to the ward to treat them. I would then administer fluids through a IV; such as the appropriate electrolytes (potassium, sodium, calcium) if I notice the severity of their reaction would involve dehydration. If it isnโt far along the severity spectrum, I would speak to a co-worker (Physician) as soon as possible and get antibiotics administered to the patient to prevent the reaction from worsening.
What procedure would you follow if you witness a patient experiencing a seizure?:
The procedure you use is to position them comfortably before applying cushioning around them (pillows, jackets, anything that defines as 'cushiony' / safe to use) you then start by checking their pulse, loosen clothing which may cause further issues during this, tilt the head slightly to ensure their airway is clear while monitoring their condition and ensuring you note the time it happened while taking into consideration if further than 5 minutes, begin CPR.
What procedure would you follow if a patient that has entered the hospital has a broken arm?:
If a patient with a broken arm enters the hospital, I'd ask them to follow through to the X-Ray room before assessing the severity of the break (clean, open or closed fracture). Depending on if the fracture is displaced or not, I will administer general anaesthesia by hooking them up to an IV before the procedure to correct the fracture then place the arm in a splint/cast, then recommend they visit the pharmacy to purchase pharmaceuticals while informing them of the amount of time the splint/cast should be worn for.
What procedure would you follow if a patient enters the hospital struggling to breathe?:
If a patient is struggling to breathe, I would check their pulse, airway and breathing before assessing if it would be necessary to administer CPR. Before doing so, I'd take into consideration they may have medication on them which helps with the issue of not being able to breathe e.g. an inhaler or in rare cases, administering oxygen.
(PSYCHIATRY)
A patient is experiencing a panic attack before an important procedure. How would you assist the patient?:
I would escort them to somewhere more private before staying with them to ensure they keep calm before asking if they need anything to assist them (tissues/something which puts them at ease). If none of the above work, I'd then resort to helping them slow their breathing before speaking to them in simple sentences as well as giving my experience with the procedure (if applicable, e.g. if my character has had said procedure).
A belligerent patient in the middle of a psychotic episode stumbles into the emergency room. What should you do?:
In a situation so dire, aim to stay calm and assess the situation as well as ensuring you prioritise your own safety, the public and the person experiencing the psychotic episode. I would speak calmly, in a non-threatening way before being empathetic and validate the patient's distress. Adding onto this, I'd maintain my distance while in this scenario.
What neurotransmitter is most commonly associated with depression?:
The neurotransmitter most commonly associated with depression is serotonin.
What does this acronym (PTSD) stand for, and what does it mean?
The acronym PTSD stands for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder which is most commonly found within somebody who has witnessed a traumatic event. PTSD can lead to things such as psychosis in rare cases physical, cognitive or even emotional trauma. Some common examples are nightmares, anxiety and anti-social behavior.

ISAMUโS COVER LETTER.
Dear Hiring Committee,
I am writing this letter to openly express my interest for a position at Norowarejima Hospital. Confident in my ability to provide an extensive amount of care for both patients and co-workers, I have no doubt to be anything less than a viable asset for your team. Although I have no previous experience in the medical field professionally, I have experience hands-on with such experiences as well as respect for your work. I became a resourceful asset in attending to wounds, ensuring the least amount of pain and was able to support people through recovery - these scenarios were often high-tension. I feel I am ready to take what Iโve learned and use it for the better, where I can help others positively. I am self-disciplined, hardworking and hoping to learn from trained professionals such as yourself.
Thank you for taking the time to read my application and for considering it. I would be delighted to discuss my knowledge regarding the medical field and to provide meaningful experiences not just for myself, but for patients.

THE INTERVIEW
[Congratulations! Your character scored an interview, please answer the following all in ICLY fashion]
The Hospital Director takes a seat at their desk, clasping their hands together with a calm gaze as they greet the individual. Their desk is clean and pristine, aside from a half-filled tea cup that continues to steam, giving the room a lovely aroma.
โGood afternoon. I will be conducting your interview today. Could I have your full name as well as your age and date of birth, please?โ
-
Taking a seat, the raven headed male kept his gaze locked on the Director in front of him; his posture relaxed. Extending his gloved hand to give a warm greeting - a handshake. "My full name is Isami Kitsujล. And yourself?" Readjusting himself in the seat after greeting the interviewer before considering some thought to the follow-up question - his age. โTwenty-nine years old. I was born on the 15th of September, 1995.โ
โVery nice. Now, could you tell me a little more about yourself? Do you have a family, perhaps some motivations behind why youโd like to work here?โ
-
The mismatched-eyed male spoke gently. His tone was sincere. โI have always contributed to people's wellbeing. In my previous line of work, I was able to stay calm in situations where remaining calm and steady was vital. Surgery is more than stitching people back up to good health and sending them on their way, itโs art - a job which requires discipline; one wrong move and everything could go wrong. I believe in making a positive impact and surgery is the most meaningful way to do so.โ
โWould you like us to refer to you by your surname or first name? As well as what honorifics youโd like.โ
-
Placed his hand on his lap, his tone showing respect for the hospital Director. โIsamu-san is suitable, I have no preference regarding if Iโm called by my forename or surname. Though, you may call me Kitsujล-San if you wish to.โ
The director nods in affirmation, now understanding the type of person the individual was and readjusts their posture, taking a sip of that aromatic green tea before continuing to speak.
โIt is nice meeting you, then. Now, Let us move on to some more important questions regarding your role. A patient arrives with a severe injury and is panicking uncontrollably. Walk me through how you would handle this situation.โ
-
Incoherently sighed, Kitsujล sat upright. โUnmistakably, I'd assess their physical condition to ensure theyโre in no immediate danger. I'd then focus on attending to their worries by speaking calmly by telling them what's needed and what is happening at the moment in time. Trust is ideal, I'd then attend to their injury while managing their physical and emotional state to ensure they respond well to any further treatment - if decided that such is necessary.โ
โDuring an emergency, if any other hospital staff are unavailable however there is a patient in need, can we trust you to stabilize them or treat them to an acceptable degree?โ
-
His face stayed neutral, his gaze briefly shifting. โYes, you can trust me. I'd act quickly to ensure the patient which is in need of help is seen to. After attending to them, I'd ensure they have the best treatment which I can give to the best of my ability. Attempting to take care of the situation no matter the circumstances, until another member of staff is available to assist."
โCould you run me through on the plethora of equipment you may find within your personal office if you are to be given the role of a resident? Just simply medical equipment.โ
-
โOf course. If I were to be taken on for the role, my personal office would have a stethoscope which must be worn at all times when on-duty and unmistakably gloves.โ His focus flickered to the ceiling as he mentally mapped out the items in his mind. โApologies. I would have saline solutions for wounds, bandages, a blood pressure cuff, a thermometer-โ Swiftly took an moment to collect his thoughts. โequipment for things that fall in the category of fractures; such as dressing kits or splints. Charts and patient records - the latter is highly unlikely to be in my personal office, as most documents would be on the system or with the workers who are on the front desk.โ
