Whatโs your IGN?: inmiu
Whatโs your Discord Tag?: isdatrizz
Do you have any alternative accounts?: 21LoveFool
Do you have a functioning microphone?: Yess I just bought it.
How old are you?: I'm 19 and will turn 20 next year in early october
Have you worked in teams like this before?: As an official member to a server to help out with teams such as this I have not, however I have taken part in teams regarding ICly matters in another server to contribute towards a server event planned by other leads. I would say I have what it takes to understand an assignment and what to do when it comes down to it in order to follow out my duties correctly.
Do you have any previous experience?: I have several roleplay experiences within the SRP community, though due to the fact that I am no longer affiliated with them any further I can only tell you based on what I have encountered there through team work and working with staff members or getting together to host an event for a player ran moment. Upon a hopeful acceptance to this team I am positive I can gain much more than just what I have gone through with others and have a bigger impact within the team.
Why are you interested in joining the Spirit Team?: My reasoning as to why I want to apply and join the Spirit Team is self-explanatory but also extremely simple. I recently discovered this server through a close friend of mine named Deno who goes by the IGN TheEz8Fury and have taken a very big liking to this server. Through observation of other staff members and team members interacting with the players in this community it is safe to say that this is the type of environment I'd like to surround myself in and get a bigger grasp of getting involved with the community. Not solely for a roleplay experience but for my own knowledge and experience in different assignments or opportunities. I can say that more than all of the community within YJ are more than excited to get their hands dirty in this server and get a feel and taste of what the staff members, developers and team members have worked so hard to contribute to as a team. That being said I have always enjoyed being included in things and being apart of a team not only because it's an extra set of hands to help out but because it is so fun to genuinely meet and get to know other players in the server for a more positive encounter for when the server is released and open to the public.
How did you learn about the server?: I was recently reached out to by TheEz8Fury (Deno) who had brought up this server to me as a simple "Hey, this is coming out soon, would you like to try and join this?" Of course I was excited at the new server mention seeing as how I had been waiting for months before Deno had even mentioned it to me. I'm very excited and willing to keep an open and positive mind to what this server will have to offer.
How do you interpret the role of the Spirit Team, and what are its responsibilities within the server?:
By taking the time to read through the requirements needed to be met by a spirit team member I have a genuine understanding that Members of this team are responsible for taking their time in going through each players application that applies for a spirit, vessel or occultist carefully to make sure they have the proper requirements met for their application. It's within their job title to make sure that they meet the standards needed in order to be accepted with a proper process.
It doesn't just stop at applications but also moves into their involvement with helping out with the lore itself that revolves around the spirit team. It's important that each member properly takes the steps needed before moving forward into making lore for the server and spirits to follow. They may also preview a story to make sure it's balanced with the servers still standing lore as well as new written out lore. This helps avoid any contradicting stories that may be written out in the future to keep things nicely maintained and in a neat order.
Along side with helping out with the lore part of the team Spirit Team may also help other players better understand the abilities and the way a spirits powers may work differently. They'll thoroughly explain what abilities can and cannot be done as well as ensuring their is ZERO toleration of abuse on the players end where they may be misusing their role as a spirit. On top of this they step in to settle misunderstandings about different mechanics.
Managing Spirit Team tickets is a big time thing as well, it's set there for members to review and handle tickets from spirits, vessels and occultists who want to create their very own divine and/or cursed objects. It's important that they review each ticket carefully to ensure that the objects are not being turned into an OP object that may be godlike or unfair to the roleplay with others. It's a duty to ensure that they are able to responsibly help players adjust ideas if need be.
Overall it's a mere factor of maintaining consistency throughout the server's spirit team and ensuring everyone has a fair advantage where each and every player can roleplay equally with little to no heated disagreements or misunderstandings to keep things running as smoothly as possible
In your own words, explain how spirits, vessels, and occultists differ mechanically and narratively:
Spirits - A the supernatural beings. Spirits are a fragment of a soul that exists beyond an ordinary human life. They have the ability to possess their own abilities and powers, meaning their strength may vary depending on what kind of spirit they have developed into.
Realistically they are a source of supernatural power, meaning they have the ability to interact with the living world and form connections through or with humans and possibly share a piece of their soul to create what would be known as a vessel
Mechanically they have their own abilities and can create a vessel with a human by sharing a piece of their soul. Stronger spirits can create more vessels and grant them more abilities. Personifications have a stronger and greater level of power and influence.
Vessels - Are humans who receive and hold a portion of a spirit's power. This can happen when a spirit makes contact with a human, forming a connection and storing a piece of its soul inside of this human essentially creating a strong bond between the two.
Unlike spirits, vessels aren't naturally super natural beings. They are still humans but with a part of the spirits soul to accommodate their influence. Vessels are humans who have gained something extraordinary but have also sacrificed something important to themselves in order to obtain it.
Mechanically they will have bonded with a spirit and receive supernatural abilities. Their physical durability and senses may change yet also improve. Newly gained abilities will also be influenced by their own personality, belief, fears or identity. However they may only be connected to one spirit. The more of their soul they give away and sacrifice the stronger their connect and abilities may become. But the bigger the ability the greater the consequence
Occultists - Are humans who learn to use certain spiritual energy throughout rituals, knowledge and special objects. Instead of giving up a piece of their soul in order to obtain one back they learn how to interact with this spiritual energy through knowledge, training, rituals and special created objects.
They are simply humans who study the supernatural in order to learn to protect themselves or influence the spiritual world through their own actions and efforts. Through their own spiritual practices and rituals they can attract, repel, weaken or contain spirits. However they need proper training to use certain techniques.
Mechanically they can learn different techniques from other experienced occultists and have the option to create spiritual tools such as an Ofuda, Omamori, and Straw Effigies. They can write inscriptions to create effects like protection wards, barriers, purification and curses.
What is the purpose of resonant tools, and why must they be reviewed or signed by the Spirit Team?: The purpose of these tools is for that they are there and created to help Occultists to put their spiritual knowledge into practice. Instead of relying on just rituatls and techniques they can create objects that can provide more specific abilities such as protection, barriers and purification. These tools can be used for different purposes however it's important that they are reviewed or signed by the spirit team to make sure they are made correctly and being used the way they are originally intended for.
You are reviewing a Spiritโs application to have Vessels, it is well-written, but slightly exceeds mechanical limits. How do you respond?:
I would start by acknowledging the effort and creativity the player put into creating their application yet due to the exceed on mechanical limits I would have to refrain from approving because although it may be well-written, the mechanics are there for a reason to ensure everyone has a fair experience. Yes it was written well, yet everyone should be held to the same standards. After making this conclusion I would explain the certain parts that exceed the limits and work together with the application to help in adjusting them while keeping their original idea close to the new version of their application. The goal is to encourage them to keep trying, not to put them down for a simple mistake but to encourage them to keep trying until they can get it right.
How would you handle an application that follows mechanics perfectly but is weak in lore or creativity?:
An application that is the opposite of the first question would need a different approach. I'd have to let the applicant know that while their application has all the mechanical requirements i would give them a heads up it could use a little more development in terms of writing, lore and personality. Maybe originality if it came down to it. Providing positive constructive feedback and being open to giving them suggestions on how they can improve it would greatly benefit them. Not every application is going to be perfect however we all learn in some way and I would appreciate to see effort and creativity put into something they worked hard to put together. Giving them an opportunity before making a final decision is relieving and not always going to put them down right away yet give them a chance to grow on it.
How do you ensure fairness when reviewing applications from friends or familiar players?:
Everyone is applying for something and everyone wants something, however each application and applicant must be treated just as anyone else. Being friends with someone and giving them special treatment on their application is completely biased and an unfavorable action to come across. I know if I witnessed biased behavior I'd be disheartened by said team member. It's important to make sure it's all inclusive to where everyone has a fair experience. Always establishing guidelines and judging an application based on quality and effort not just who happened to write it. If I felt my personal relationship could affect my judgement it's only a good decision to pass that task onto someone who isn't biased to the player.
Do you understand that if you are caught acting biased, or making unfair judgement calls, you can and will be removed?:
I understand this completely and completely agree with this. If I am caught making unfair calls and acting biased with players then I can understand as to why I would be removed from the team
