What’s your IGN?:
MomRP

What's your Discord Tag?:
Valentine_Lols

Do you have any alternative accounts?:
Valentine_Lols [Main]
YourAnxi3ty [Other ALT]

Do you have a functioning microphone?:
Yep!

How old are you?:
20

Have you worked in teams like this before?:
Yes, I have experience working in groups with lore-building like in Minecraft and other games such as familiarities, whether for roleplay communities [me acting as a GM] or worldbuilding personal projects that puts on a spin on different types of series of movies/games/animes. I enjoy working with others to expand narratives, ensuring consistency as a whole and making it more unique from the original piece.

Do you have any previous experience?:
Yes, I have experience in writing character backstories and event planning for roleplay servers and collaborative rp projects via discord and other matters as a whole. My background includes setting geography, factions (history upon said factions like their founding), and history for various communities, this includes detailed custom religions as well.

What do you believe is your writing strong suit?:
My strong suits are character development(mostly if it is tied nitly to the lore), worldbuilding, and creating immersive lore that feels lived-in and not like a ghost-town. I usually write engaging narratives with historical backgrounds, ensuring logical consistency while leaving room for creative expansion. In my eyes, everything needs a stand-point as a whole that can and will turn into something unique from the original piece.

Why are you interested in joining the Lore Team?:
Being on the Lore Team allows me to contribute to shared creativity while also having the opportunity to shape it into something truly unique. By collaborating with others, I can help make narratives that resonate with the community. Eventually, my goal is to create events that make every player feel included, having a sense of belonging to the people who play on the server.

This vision ties directly into the future events I'd like to organize for the school that builds lore relating to the school as a whole, and for new events as a whole. Beyond just school-related activities, I aim to create server-wide events that bring everyone together, regardless of their role or background in the lore.

How did you learn about the server?:
To be honest, I learned from it by a friend mutual’s bio before they chose to focus on their irl, they left the server and might rejoin after the full release , I also saw it via PMC while lookin for outfit inspos under "YRP"

What unique contributions can you bring to the server?:
I usually detail story telling with a strong sense of narrative cohesion to the story, as in the lore and the events. I can relate character arcs into Events if needed, if they’re lore important character(s) and keep the Events making sense if they’re a major important character to keep the ball rolling, I am pretty well at that. I also have experience in organizing lore documents making that information accessible and making sure the lore remains adoptable for any future developments and editing are future events that my need to collide and continue on, depending on what is being seen for the development.

I am also able to coordinate events and plan them to the fullest as in the date, the time, what is needed along with other things that need to be situated. In Minecraft roleplays, this extends to buildings and other related things would also have to be discussed. I am usually someone who prefers planning it before having it all set up as in having the rough idea of what I want to be one week before the event. I usually get to know the times with different event members when they are available and figure out to narrow down what time to host them depending if other event team members are needed overall. I am a very organized person. I usually organize in the background of the lore team and different role plays.

Write a short story of a Self-Made Yokai you can find roaming throughout the island:
Deep within the deep forest of Norowarejima, where the trees twist and are shaped in unique ways. Deep into the dark forest where light can barely touch the sky, there is where a Yokai resides. The people know her as a lantern widow, usually called 提灯未亡人 (Chōchin Mibōjin). A person that is shrouded always in sorrow and weeping, appearing to those who have lost their way in the dead of light, darkness.

This female is always seen wearing a dark kimono that is almost in black, with her hair disheveled into a messy do where the strands almost feel like it was clinging onto her face. Every second with her feels like it was clear that she had been going through crying for hours and hours to where her pale skin almost had the redness to the tips of their fingers and around their eyes as if they had been mourning for a loss that was never there.

The people rumor it was a tragic tale passed down through generations once she was a devoted wife, waiting faithfully for her husband's return from a distance traveling. Each evening she would like a paper Lantern to walk to the cliff side, looking around and peering to see where her husband was,her eyes always fixed upon the horizon. I need to see his silhouette emerge from the endless waves night after night, she kept her promise to keep waiting, her heart filled with the feeding hope she was sad, but when the time when he was supposed to come back, he never returned, some say he perished by ambush, his final thoughts never reached to her. Others claimed that he survived, but found solace in another's embrace for giving the woman he was once with and is awaiting him. Every day she was waiting with as she started to slowly fade into the sadness of her husband never returning.

Grief has consumed her on the final night of her, her lantern was found flickering on the Cliff's edge, swaying in the wind like a dying breath below the oceans cradled her lifeless body, the weight of despair, having pulled her into the abyss into the water where the cold, freezing water was engulfing her, the people were over combed by fear that the sorrow is so deep not to simply fade away, it was lingering, searching and yearning, and so her so remained bound to the island forever near the water, waiting for her husband.

When people speak of her, they always describe her as a woman draped in the tavern Inc dark kimono that is clearly wandering the depths of the forest and it dimly glowing man turning heads her face always obscured by a sheer Vail, as fabric always swaying with in the night breeze, her voice was soft as if it was a feeding dream that was calling out gently beckoning for the last to follow, almost as if it's mesmerizing and something he would want to hear like a mother or a wife calling for you to come closer.

At first, her presence was almost comforting, like a guardian, guiding the way home, but the deeper one follows the stranger, the path becomes thick, and almost seems to shift in the familiar world that they were once aware of was shifting into something that's very unfamiliar, some say she's to seek companionship, longing for someone to wait with her, so she is not alone. Others believe she leaves at last the same speech she suffered to fall into the darkness, swallowed by sorrow and never to return to the life they had.

But those who escape her grasp just enough to escape the lady and forest, they hear a whisper trailing after them, it was chilling, yet it was filled with unbearable longing “Please, don't leave me alone…” as if it was a voice begging for something, they didn't want to go back to into the silence, into the loneliness.

"Step into luck and whisker away your worries at the Maneki Neko, where every bite brings good fortune!"

Background:
Maneki Neko Café is a pop-up experience inspired by Japan’s beloved symbol of luck and prosperity; the Maneki Neko, or “beckoning cat.” This iconic feline is known to bring good fortune, wealth, and happiness to those who cross its path. Drawing from this cherished tradition, the café aims to bring cultural nostalgia, this happens mostly during the new-years, however it’s common for it to come by during other holiday occasions as well.

The Maneki Neko’s origin is rooted in Japanese folklore, where it is said to have saved a traveler from a lightning strike by beckoning him into a temple. In gratitude, the traveler donated funds to restore the temple, making the cat a symbol of good fortune.

Guests are invited to participate in traditional Japanese practices such as the Wish Tree Ceremony, where they can write their dreams and wishes on paper charms to be hung on a Lucky Tree. With interactive experiences, playful fortune readings, and visits from the adorable Nyaneko mascot themselves!

Pretty much, it does normal things as a whole that sells merch and things relating to luck and matters.

How would you write the atmosphere of the image provided below? (Byakuyakoku Shinto Monastery):
(Must be at least 200 characters long, describing the characteristics, atmosphere as well as including some personal ideas about Byakuyakoku.)

It felt so cold…

The air was sharp and biting away in such a cold atmosphere, it was as if the air was standing still, the passing wind could almost take one down from the coldness if you weren’t dressed appropriately. It felt like everything was pressing down, suffocating into a relentless, chilling feeling before them was a grand stone staircase, it rose upwards its edges slick, with frost leading up to the red Torii gates. They're vibrant hue was stark against the pure white snow that covered the ground almost and disturbed safer, faint footprints left by those who walked off the path, besides the fact that it was newly shovelled.

Beside the staircase there was a waterfall tumbling down with a quiet, majestic type of look to it, it had icy water is rushing down the jagged rocks, the sound of a soft haunting, almost echo, and otherwise, still, there was mist that was rising where the water met the basin below, hanging in the air. Around the area where the staircases have ended, there would be thin red ribbons fluttering gently between tall pillars of the shine that was seemingly caught by the breeze, as soon almost too faint to exist, the ribbons are bright colour contrasted with the gray light of the fading day.

The snow almost bred out before them as an endless sea of white, this path was shoveled, as I was clear, there were mountains around the shrine. The dark stone tile roofs curved elegantly with your interpret carvings frozen in the grip of winter's hand, it was clear that there was some type of Frost clinging on to it, there is a lot of detail from the latticework of the sliding doors of the finery eaves. In a shrine area, there was a presence of foxes, stone statues of foxes that seemed to weather down but are surprisingly in a good state undeniably.

Norowarejima, often whispered about as the 'Ghost Island,' was no stranger to the eerie and the unknown. The island had earned its reputation, with locals and visitors alike speaking of strange sightings, shadows moving where none should be, and voices carried on the wind. The land itself seemed haunted by an unseen presence, as if something from another time lingered in the air. Yet, amidst all the talk of vengeful spirits and restless souls, the shrine stood as a beacon of refuge. To many, it was believed to be a sanctuary from the malicious spirits that roamed the island.

You have been tasked to write an in-lore influential character in the history of Norowarejima. Who and what would you create? Provide some insight on the character!:
(e.g., A previous Journalist from 30 years ago named Nagasaki Itto).

(This was inspired by Kotoko Wamura, as it rumored said he saw an event of this happening to his town and stopped the Tsunami, it's more of rumors but it was nice to theorize about)
Born in 1898, there was a person named Sakuya Mori that was raised in Norowarejima. It was often shrouded with superstition and rumors of spirits and yokais a-like. The people who heard these rumors believed that the land was cursed, haunted by restless spirits that wandered into people's dreams as a whole. There were tales of yume-watari which are well known as 'dream walkers' who could visit other people's mind or glimpse into the future. This was whispered from generation to generation. Rather than dismissing these stories as just folklore, Mori was fascinated and wanted to know more.. He became almost obsessed into finding any type of scientific reasoning behind it as he was convinced that dreams held a key to unlocking the mysteries of the human mind.

In the 1930s, after studying medicine and psychology abroad, Mori returned to the island he was raised on. There, he had established Mori's Sleep Institute on the outskirts of the island and near the water. A place that was rumored to be cursed long before Mori decided to buy out this building. Officially, the institute was dedicated to researching sleep disorders, but Mori had a way darker, more ambitious goal... It was to prove an existence of a shared dreamscape.

He utilized a mixture of hypnosis and sensory deprivation while he was carefully monitoring sleep cycles. Mori conducted radical experiments on the dreams as a whole, his methods were seen as unconventional and at times of these experiments, ethically questionable. He wanted to recreate the experiences that was described in the island's legends of these shared dreams, glimpse of the future, and encounters with shadowy figures that was rumored to dwell in-between someone's cycle of sleep and wakefulness.

Subjects reported eerily similar dreams of wandering through foggy lands, hearing distant, mournful cries of people, sometimes children too added into the mix. Some described meeting each other within the dream and recounted the details so precise it was almost impossible.. as if they had met each other in the real world during a normal day-to-day. Others saw visions of events that had not yet come to pass.. from tragedies, reunions of lost family, even natural disasters. When these predications began to unfold in reality, the fear gripped the islanders.

Yet, the most disturbing accounts were about encounters with shadowy figures which are known as Kage-Musha. These entities were faceless.. but sentient, standing still in the distance, almost watching you. As the experiments kept going, the figures grew more and more bolder, approaching the dreamers and whispering in voices that felt so familiar to these subjects to science. Some of the subjects woke up screaming, convinced that these figures followed them into the real world. A few claimed to see them lingering in the corners of the institute's hallways, just beyond the edge of vision.. lurking and studying them from afar.

Rumors began to spread through Norowarejima. The locals believed that Mori had angered the spirits that cursed the land to cause this incidents.. Saying it was better to leave them undisturbed. They began to fear the institute and the strange happening rounding it as a whole, people spoke of hearing faint whispers that was almost carried by the fog that layers the island. Voices of those that were experimented on. Even the staff at the institute became uneasy, reporting that the nightmares felt more alive than real life by due time.. to the point where some just try to not sleep as it felt like a fate worse than death.

The former patients were never the same, they complained of recurring dreams after leaving the island in fear.. Dreams where Mori himself appeared in, him staring at them with hollow blank eyes. Others, suffered from extreme déjà vu, often reliving moments that so vividly almost doubled as their own reality. A few even went 'mad', muttering about the Kage-Musha, saying that the figures were watching them everywhere, from the mirrors and the shadows, in fear that one day, they will get hunted down by them.

In 1947, Sakuya Mori vanished without a trace at all, his final experiment was rumored to involve inducing a state of perpetual lucid dreaming in an attempt to enter the shared dreamscape himself. However, when his staff went to check on him, they only found his empty chair, spilled coffee that went cold by now, and scattered research notes filled with incoherent kanji about "doors that shouldn't be opened" along with "voices that call from the fog".. The institute was abandoned overnight, and government agents arrived soon after to confiscate all of Mori's research as it landed under "Inhumane treatment". They sealed off the building, declaring it should be off-limits to the puplic.

An urban legend emerges from this.. If one dreams of Sakuya Mori, they are said to be marked by the Kage-Musha and will be doomed to see shadows for the rest of their life. Some say that Mori never 'truly' disappeared, that he became trapped within the shared dreamscape that he so desperately sought to prove true. and that he's forever wandering the foggy nightmares of Norowarejima.

Apologies for any typos I may have missed, I'm a little silly and forgot to post it way sooner 🫠

Denied

Unfortunately, after discussing your application with the rest of the staff team, we have decided to deny it for the reasons listed below:
1. There were multiple grammar mistakes throughout the application. While minor errors wouldn’t typically result in a denial for most teams, members of the Lore department are expected to proofread and correct such mistakes before submitting their work (e.g., "puplic").

2. Inconsistent verb tenses made certain sections difficult to read (e.g., "Every second with her feels like it was clear.").
If you plan to reapply, we strongly recommend revising your application for fluency, readability, and consistency to improve your chances of acceptance.

If you have any questions, feel free to open a ticket and ask our Lore Coordinator, @D0MINEER !
