Do you have a functioning microphone?:
I do, and I'm comfortable with using it!

Currently 17
Have you worked in teams like this before?:
I have previously worked with two other teams, one VRP which I left for personal reasons, an abnormality lab RP from GMOD which got shut down but I have some documents I made for it, and I am currently working with Echos 1984, another RP server. I am more than happy to show examples of my work from previous servers to anyone in DMs.
Do you have any previous experience?:
Yes, I've written various lore documents, primarily history documents for lore.
What do you believe is your writing strong suit?:
History, writing on the backgrounds of places and people alike. I love to integrate fictional worlds to the real one to give everything a sense of belonging. Instead of feeling disconnected from the world and by extension the country this is from, make it a part of it. Via the culture, history and government. I admit I am not the best at writing events but if you need someone to come up with the historical significance while also making one hell of a story of a building or person, I am very proficient in that regard.
Why are you interested in joining the Lore Team?:
I see a chance to broaden my horizons while also writing about a country I haven't had the chance to research yet. This is both a good opportunity and a challenge, as I know that Japan is much different to other areas where I had previously made lore for. Yet I've started from the ground up before, and I am more than willing to do it again.
How did you learn about the server?:
I was in a VC with some old friends when they mentioned it, I was curious and decided to check it out. I enjoyed the overall feeling and vibe and decided if given the chance I'd love to write for the server.
What unique contributions can you bring to the server?:
If you need a person who will spend his time researching to truly fit the lore in the massive puzzle that is world history. After giving a quick look I realized that Japan has much history throughout it that I can use not only for inspiration but also as a foundation.
Write a short story of a Self-Made Yokai you can find roaming throughout the island:
A figure of a man can sometimes be observed swinging a naginata in the mountainside, blood tears streaming from his face. Onlookers who approach him see him vanish before their eyes. He is described as a tall man wearing a traditional haori, sobbing loudly while swinging his weapon.
According to records recovered during the Muromachi period, he was named Ketsurrui no Senshi, the blood teared warrior. The documents are of a tale, the supposed story of how the warrior came to be.
Centuries ago, there was a man famed for his proficiency and prowess with a naginata. The local jito was so impressed, he made him a samurai for his abilities. He created himself a home and family, founding a new clan of samurai whom he began training. Unfortunately for him, he would not die a peaceful death.
In those days, pirates raided the coasts while bandits roamed the countryside. The local samurai were being massacred, for the bandits' numbers were too many for them to handle. The warrior went to a nearby village, where locals told of an impending attack by bandits. Other samurai told those to evacuate, that they were unable to defeat the sheer number of bandits, yet the warrior stood alone with his mythic naginata. Hundreds of bandits appeared over the horizon, their crude weapons clashing against each other. They stormed the town, the warrior charging forward to meet them. His blade sliced through the raiders one by one, their bodies piling up. By the time the warrior made it past the mob, there was no one left. Few survived, fleeing the masacre for fear they had fought against a yokai.
The warrior returned to his home soon after, only to find his entire clan murdered. He was filled with pure rage, seeking vengeance for his family. His fellow samurai pleaded with him to calm down, attempting to get him back to his senses, but he did not listen.
He pushed past his fellow samurai, quickly riding towards a known bandit camp. He massacred everyone he could get his hands on. By the time his fellow samurai arrived, the bandit camp was reduced to ash with the bodies of those responsible left unrecognizable. He was found dead amongst them, still clutching his famed naginata. Some say his spirit still roams, Hunting all those who dare attack the innocent.
Write a quick event based on Japanese pop-up cafes/restaurants/stores (Promotional cafes based on media such as anime, gaming, spirits, etc.):
Risshun is now open! Are you a big fan of the Ghost Of Yurei-Jima? Then come on and swing by!
Get a taste of our traditional miso soup, or perhaps youโre feeling adventurous and would like to try our delicious sashimi. Whatever your taste you are welcomed to eat and enjoy the beautiful coming of spring all along authentic samurai armor! Dine amongst beautiful flowers and enjoy the traditional Japanese style Izakaya!
Keep your eyes out too! Weโve hidden notes among sashimoto banners around the island! If you find all ten youโll be rewarded with a secret prize only given to those that complete this challenge as well as a free meal for two all paid for! So, what are you waiting for? Come get that perfect date or an exclusive prize for only the best scavengers!
I feel this event would do good as itโs two things at once. A scavenger hunt for those who want something out of it and a restaurant for those who just want a meal. I feel like events shouldnโt focus on one thing and have a bit more to offer!
How would you write the atmosphere of the image provided below? (Byakuyakoku Shinto Monastery):
(Must be at least 200 characters long, describing the characteristics, atmosphere as well as including some personal ideas about Byakuyakoku.)
Atop a frozen peak lay a shrine to the spirits. Clad in white, during the night the monastery lights up the peak with its warm glow from candlelight and lanterns reflecting off the snow. The smell of cedar wood, incense and the old stone envelopes the entire shrine, as if the spirits themselves dance among the monks.
The breeze dances among the wisps of smoke from candles lit by the inhabitants, all the while the untouched snow shines brightly during the day, as if the peak is the gates of heaven. Even the trees themselves stand tall in the cold, their leaves a beautiful pale white. It would be silent, with the chaotic sounds of day to day life in modern japan left at the base of the mountain. This is a place of tranquility, with the soft and inviting monastery giving a place of refuge to those from the cold.
Its name, meaning white night, describes it perfectly as it stands as not only a place for visitors to give respect to the spirits, but a ground for new life. It is a place of peace, for withinโ its ancient walls lay a history of monks giving great care to maintain its image. You need to have great respect for a monastery like this as the mountain it sits upon pieces he clouds and stands tall against the ever changing world.
You have been tasked to write an in-lore influential character in the history of Norowarejima. Who and what would you create? Provide some insight on the character!:
(e.g., A previous Journalist from 30 years ago named Nagasaki Itto).
Many centuries ago, stories tell of a single man with a broken clan who traveled to Norowarejima. His name was Taira no Tomokazu, one of the heads of the Taira clan in Japan. A powerful leader and a much more powerful warrior. He was one of the main players during the Genpei War, dueling against many and defending the city he was born in, Heian-kyล, modern day Kyoto. Even after the siege of the city in 1184, he did not falter against his enemies, the Minamoto clan. Unfortunately for him, in 1845 during the battle of Dan-no-ura, his clan was decisively defeated.
While his clan was dismantled, he fled Heian-kyล for fear of joining his family in prison or worse. He made it to modern day Norowarejima, where he discovered droves of bandits raiding and killing the already neglected population.
He decided to make a plan, vowing to not only free the island but make it prosper. With what men that remained with him after the war, he used his abilities with warfare and his martial prowess to slowly liberate the island from the bandits. The local population which had long been neglected by the mainland saw hope in the newcomer. By 1187 AD, he had completely freed the entire island, quickly establishing new towns and assisting with new technology that hadnโt transferred to the island. By 1192, the island was a prospering trade hub with a wealth no one could disregard.
The Minamoto clan was still busy establishing the shogunate, so he built up his army. By the time the mainland had realized what was happening on the island. They decided instead of wasting more men after the already devastating Genpei War, they should allow Taira no Tomokazu to live as long as he works under their rule. Lucky for them, Taira no Tomokazu was also tired of the bloodshed.
With the terms set, he would govern the island with minimal mainland interference and low taxes. He rebuilt his clan, established new cities and overall became the hero of Norowarejima. To this day many look up to him for freeing the island of itโs brutal origins, making it truly a part of Japan.
