For the checking applications part, I play a server called Sakura Falls where I am on something called a Volunteer Union, this Union checks most community and staff applications and makes sure the format is followed, the motivations are proper, the grammar is correct and the overall application is good. After that, I personally review what I like/dislike about the application and +1/-1 depending on if I like it.
On another server, I used to be the co-lead of a faction, then became the lead of a faction; The Government Faction. The Volunteer Union on Sakura Falls helped me with reviewing applications but this time my opinion was the most important. On cases where I am clearly biased I would ask my Higher-Ups to review the application and give their thought, if most of the side is leaning towards +1 I would accept and if -1 then I would deny.

Now for writing lorrreeeeeeee. So I have been a writer for 2 years, I have written basically anything from character descriptions to application guidelines, this includes but is not limited to character backstories/biographies, lore pieces on something, someone or a group of people.
Why are you interested in joining the Spirit Team?:
I'm interested in joining the Spirit Team because I am really interested in anything thats related to spirits, supernatural behaviour and well basically occultism. I want to make sure that the efficiency of how it works is maintained and want to help out with ensuring that any lore written fits with anything currently written.
How did you learn about the server?:
My friend was in it then he invited me, then I made new friends and well yeah. So technically through discord.
How do you interpret the role of the Spirit Team, and what are its responsibilities within the server?:
The Spirit Team is a group of people who help review and process all spirit, vessel and occultist application, they ensure that every single submission follow both the mechanical and roleplay standards. They also assist by ensuring that any lore documents regarding the faction maintains the pre-established image of how the faction would work/currently works. They're the ones who help the faction lead with the mechanics and they make sure that the abilities and limitations are properly and fairly used. On top of all that they manage tickets regarding the creation of Divine and Cursed Objects by Spirits, Vessels and Occultists. They basically ensure that the vision, rules and guidelines of the faction is maintained and not abused.
In your own words, explain how spirits, vessels, and occultists differ mechanically and narratively.
SPIRITS: Spirits are beings who died. There are four types of spirits, Lesser Spirits who are the weakest of them all and cannot interact with the physical world, Greater Spirits who can interact physically but this role is reserved for those who have the "Trusted Player" role, Elder Spirits who are some of the most powerful and rare spirits but this role is reserved for those who are either in the lore team or an admin and then the strongest and rarest type of spirit; The Kami. This role is reserved for only those who are Admin+. Spirits can curse, bless, create artefacts, realms and even perform miracles. They can also "eat" other spirits but they risk Soul-Death. They cannot RomanceRP, they must respect folklore, be mysterious, and they are warded by cursed objects (benevolent spirits) or holy relics (malevolent spirits)
VESSELS: Vessels are individuals who's soul has been fractured so that a spirit can place a fragment of their soul into the individual. Lesser Spirits cannot have any Vessels, Greater Spirits may have 2, giving the vessel 1 combative ability and 2 non-combative effects. An Elder Spirit can have up to 4 Vessels, giving 2 combat abilities and 3 non-combative effects. A Kami has no limits, as they are the most powerful type of Spirit. The abilities of a Vessel cannot affect physically any mundane beings, these abilities are spiritual. Whilst a spirit could have multiple Vessels, a Vessel cannot have multiple spirits within its soul. Creating a Vessel requires immense suffering and risks the Vessel becoming an Exalted Vessel.
OCCULTISTS: Occultists are human beings who practice what is called occultism. They use resonant tools such as, Ofudas, Omamoris, and Straw Effigies, with inscriptions, Shugo, Kekkai, Harai, Juso, and more. Occultists can perform wardings, invokings, cursings. However to do so the Occultist must receive approval from the Spirit Team, through a ticket system. Occultism originates from Shintoism, Buddhism and Onmyลdล. These methods are taught to individuals via a master occultist and rituals which require multiple individuals.
What is the purpose of resonant tools, and why must they be reviewed or signed by the Spirit Team?:
There are three resonant tools; Ofuda, Omamori, and Straw Effigies. These three tools are items that allow people to manipulate and bind spiritual intent. In some rarer cases, even temporarily weaken the boundary between the physical realm.
Ofuda; Ofuda are sacred talismans that must be placed on every entrance of a room, including doorways, windows, and ventilation entrances. Doing this will create a fixed inscription effect within the binded space, if any entrance is missed the effect will not work.
Omamori; Omamori are sealed, portable charms carried on a person for continuous but weaker protection compared to Ofuda. Opening them will render them useless.
Straw Effigies; Straw Effigies are very rare tools and powerful. They expand an inscription's effect over a wide area. However, they require a physical anchor, blood, hair, or even sometimes bone fragments.
Together, these tools can be used to perform invokings, wardings, and/or cursings.
These should be reviewed and signed by the Spirit Team because the team needs to ensure that every tool which is created needs to have been created through character roleplay and make sure that all regulations were followed, and to make sure that the effects are balanced and to prevent power-gaming.
You are reviewing a Spiritโs application to have Vessels, it is well-written, but slightly exceeds mechanical limits. How do you respond?:
Personally, I would put the application on pending and request that the individual refines their knowledge regarding the mechanical limits, and after doing so I would re-review the application and if its still bad I would deny the application however if it was edited properly and the application is perfect then I would accept it.
How would you handle an application that follows mechanics perfectly but is weak in lore or creativity?:
I feel like the most important is that the mechanics are followed perfectly, lore and creativity can be I think that its very good that the mechanics were followed perfectly however lore and creativity are key when making making a spirit application, therefore i wouldn't deny the application but rather put it on pending, giving the player time to adjust their application to ensure that the lore and creativity is enhanced.
How do you ensure fairness when reviewing applications from friends or familiar players?:
If there is any applications from people I am really familiar with or friends with I would ask the others who are in the team to review it instead of myself.
Do you understand that if you are caught acting biased, or making unfair judgement calls, you can and will be removed?:
I understand and accept that if I am caught being biased or putting my personal feelings in front of my judgement I will be removed.
