Dear diary, it's been months now Norowarejima is still closed, no flights to it, no train rides, an island where the only way to access it would be by boat. All official ferry lines have been shut down, there are no ways to legally go into Norowarejima. So I did the only logical thing, I flew to Tokyo and rented a small fuel based boat. The one who I rented the boat from was skeptical and probably scammed me of the money I had, but my curiosity could not be eased, I needed to know why this city was shut down, what made it special, why no one could there yet. The official reason was due to renovations, but that isn't a good reason to shut a city, an island off of an entire country, something must have happened. When nightfall came around I crept to the boat and started it up, I looked back to make sure that the extra fuel was onboard, a nodded to myself. I sailed throughout the night. In full honesty I was kind of nervous because I didn't know what to expect, was this island dangerous, did it have some contagious disease? Only time will tell.
The night was long and difficult, the waves hit the boat as I sailed, it wasn't ideal. As the sun came up around six in the morning, the sky looked amazing. The horizon held a magnificent gradient of orange, pink and yellow. As I looked around I noticed a shore, I steered the boat and the closer I got to the shore, the more I noticed the buildings, massive beautifully constructed buildings, a soft smile peered onto my lips. I honestly didn't understand why no one was there, but some buildings were not finished, maybe the construction was not a false reason, maybe I am just overreacting. But I couldn't turn back and leave, my curiosity got the best of me and I steered towards the end of the dock, an area where I could park it. As the side of the boat hit the wood if the dock I hopped off and wrapped the rope around a wooden pole. I grabbed my things and walked into the city.
My lips were agape, the buildings looked amazing but the city wasn't done, maybe there wasn't a disease but that wouldn't explain why there was no one. I don't understand what happened here, I think the city is abandoned, but some of the buildings looked fresh so that wouldn't explain it. As I walked into the city, posters rested all over the walls, light poles; "Breaking news Norowarejima, shut down due to an unknown pandemic" he squinted, and his brows furrowed, even if there was a pandemic there would be bodies or people around, but there no one. I keep walking, evening came so quickly, I walked backwards towards the boat to stay the night there. I drop my bags, my eyes widening, my boat was gone, completely gone, no oil in the water which is impossible. It's as if there was never any boat there in the first place.
I run back towards the posters, shocked. There were no longer any there, I rub my eye lids, was I going crazy? I keep running, terrified. There were two explanations, either i'm crazy and hallucinating or something really disturbing is happening here. I storm into an apartment complex, I open one of the apartments and it was unfurnished, no wall, no nothing. I gulp down and keep running away, I pass a tunnel, into a huge forrest. I keep running and I slowly close my eyes, feeling the cool air against my face, that wasn't the smartest move because I run into something hard, something big, a tree.
On day two on this island, I walk for what seems forever, I want to leave but I'm lost here, my head is pounding due to running into a tree. Stupid trees I think to myself. As I keep walking I stumble into some kind of abandoned estate, I look at it puzzled, it looks really well, really Japanese styled. I shudder as I feel a gaze on me, something strange is watching me, I turn my head and see a deer, it wasn't looking at me but I forgot about the feeling of being watched. I walk towards the deer pet it then leave it alone.
Later in the evening, I grill some mushrooms over a campfire and then eat them tastily. As I eat I write this in my journal, I'm keeping tabs so I don't forget everything I experience. Suddenly I freeze and look around, I feel eyes on me. My eyes widen as something runs in my direction, I hide in my tent, writing this all down as fast as I can to make sure that I don't miss a thing, a figure was running at me, a..
